Another one about vests.

Need new vests.

I need some as layering under jumpers and other tops. Particularly my old pre DC jumpers which are shorter than I'd like to wear now.

I just can't risk flashing my stretch marked saggy tum at people so need long layering vests pls.

I am prepared to pay for the right ones as its cheaper than replacing a wardrobe full of jumpers!

Oh and I am tall. 5' 10" so looooong ones please Grin

I am hitting the shops later today (bluewater) so will be near john Lewis HoF uniqlo h&m M&S white co gap reiss hobbs lk Bennett etc etc

I bought a lot at H&M last month. The plain ones are ok but ride up a bit, but I have some with lace round the neck which are brilliant - long, thin so good for layering, have washed well so far. Fab.

MrsFlorrick · 01/11/2013 09:39

Oh and I will also be near Jigsaw fat face white stuff whistles Zara mango ck jeans and top shop etc.

I second the vests at H&M. I'm 5'8 and the vests there are nicely long, so you can layer them.

Rattitude · 01/11/2013 09:40

H&M is regularly recommended as well as Primark.

I have recently bought super long-line vests from Dunnes. I got them in most of the colours.

They are great and only £5.

MrsFlorrick · 01/11/2013 09:40

Bigkids. Excellent!! I will have a look at those.

Are they cotton stretch type? Not too nylony hopefully?

Lots of votes for H&M. Fab.

I sadly won't be near a primark or a Dunnes.

Just had a look at the one I've got on today, 95% cotton :)

Rattitude · 01/11/2013 09:42

Dunnes' are 95% cotton

MrsFlorrick · 01/11/2013 09:44

Bigkids. Grin That sounds like the perfect vest then.

Gap are good also

MrsFlorrick · 01/11/2013 09:44

Rattitude. Thanks. I could always order on line and a fiver is a bargain!

Art. I have had gap ones I bought year ago. I couldn't find any vests last time I went into gap. Will try again today. Thanks

OP, I ordered mine online and picked them up in a Dunnes store. I don't think they had all the colours in my store anyway.

They are good classic colours. I think I have bought 6 now. Grin

Artandco · 01/11/2013 12:18

Mrs - I brought lots in the summer so maybe they are classed as summer stock? ( they were the vest top ones not thermal).

AgathaF · 01/11/2013 12:37

Tu (Sainsburys). I'm tall too and they are the longest I have found.

googietheegg · 01/11/2013 12:47

Are these tight or loose vests? Before dd I wore tight vests with shirts/cardis etc but now I need something a little less embarrassing round my blobby tummy...

Rattitude · 01/11/2013 15:32

The Dunnes ones I have (size 10) are fitted but not excessively so.

I have a Primark one which is less forgiving, shall I say...Wink

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 01/11/2013 15:40

I bought some from next and they were so long I nearly sent them back but they have been great. Not nylony and they had a good range of colours and they were I think on a deal for three for £12.

BeCoolFucker · 01/11/2013 15:56

Esprit - a little more pricey but great quality. I've had mine for years & they are still my fav

BeCoolFucker · 01/11/2013 15:56

also they are quite supportive in the boobage!

mewkins · 01/11/2013 17:36

I love esprit ones. Plenty long enough for your height. I also buy the h&m ones that are actually basic dresses (but would be indecent if actually worn as a dress!)

Got 4 from h&m. £3.99 each for 95% cotton and 5% elasthene. Quite thick so decent quality. And made in Turkey so hopefully without too much slave labour.

Pleased as they are long. Just the right length in fact. Colour selection ok but I think they had sold out of some because there were empty space on rack.
Didn't see any in other shops I liked. Jigsaw had better colours but they had a lace top and bottom so frilly looking. Not a good look with my All Saints leather trousers. Grin

Thanks

Sod vests, you know what you need, what you really need?

These.

They keep you super warm, much warmer than a cotton vest, are really long (I am 5'10" and I can wear the long one from directly under my boobs to a mid thigh length skirt, brilliant for layering under jumpers, especially slouchy ones as you don't have the extra straps going on. I have four, and am buying them for loads of people for christmas, they are brilliant.

AgathaF · 02/11/2013 13:18

Gobblers wow - what a good idea. Do they roll down though, or shift under your clothing?
