DIY should I shouldn't I?

Today in primark I bought myself these boots, I really like them, lovely shape, good heel height etc (I know they look a bit like Pistols and these are probably now out of fashion) but they are good for me and only cost £18.

However, I'm really unsure about the gold bit on the heel, I've purchase some black nail varnish and I'm thinking about painting out the gold.
Do you think I'd need to sand the gold plastic, or just use my sticky undercoat, or just paint straight on to it.
Or do you think it doesn't look too bad???

I have seen these too and wanted a pair but couldn't justify £18 on them even though it is v v cheap Sad .

I personally would leave the gold on.

The gold is the highlight for me. Really on trend.

As it's obvs not real gold, the nv might react with whatever it is and leave a horrible mess. Might even melt it.
I'd leave well alone if I were you.

It might look ok at first but then it will chip and look ghastly.
