best clinique foundation?

I have a voucher for Boots and desperately need a new foundation. I have recently started using clinique products and have combination skin - oily t zone and drier cheeks. I want something that gives reasonable coverage and is long lasting. Any suggestions?

I think it depends on lots of things, your skin type, your shade, your coverage requirements. My idea of a good foundation may be no good for you because my skin is oily/combo / doesn't have a colour match for your skintone / is too light coverage.

The only Clinique face products I use (make up) are the mineral pressed powder foundation (which I apply lightly with a buffing brush, not the included sponge!) and their tinted spf25 city block, which acts more like a true BB on my skin. Their liquid foundations aren't great for me as I can't get a good colour match.

The best thing to do is to get some samples from Boots and try them out on your skin in daylight so you can get a feel for the colour match and how it sits on your skin after a while (does it cake, does it change colour, does it melt off, etc ?).

Boots stock lots of other brands too, I would say it's worth exploring samples from other brands too. Something like Estée Lauder Double Wear Light might be good if you can find a colour match.

I really rate their almost powder make up, flexible coverage and lasts really well on my oily t zone

Thanks. Am going shopping tomorrow and so will explore some of the other brands as well as clinique.

That's it, almost powder, Gilly!

I'm combination and love the Clinique 'even better' compact. I stipple it on with a Real techniques brush and it's flawless :)

I have only ever used a liquid foundation and so am a bit nervous of anything else!
