Slimming to fit back into clothes

I am in my mid 40s and the weight seems to have piled on around my tummy and hips. I am a small frame and used to be a size 8 but now I can no longer get my skirts of that size over my hips. I used to walk to work but now my new job means driving as I can't get there by public transport etc. I am not sporty but may force myself to do something.

Has anyone achieved this and managed to get back into clothes or should I resign myself and put the items on ebay.

Bear in mind that, even if you lose weight you may be a different shape

Different things suit different people but my story is...
My weight just crept up and up until I was enormously overweight. I joined the bootcamp thread and found low carb suits me but I have done it as a lifestyle change, not a short-term diet and my weightloss is slow but steady(ish) I would say find a way you can eat to make a long-term sustainable change.

Try downloading the 7-minute workout to a phone or tablet, that's a good start for exercise

Ideally slimming back down into clothes you already have would be a better idea for many reasons:-
money, health, waste etc

Do you enjoy walking? I often use my lunch hour to go for a power walk. I choose the most hilly route I can find and sometimes take something heavy to carry to get my heart going a bit more.

Yes I am also mid 40s small frame and back in a size 8 after being overweight and not fitting in my clothes. The 5:2 way of eating really works.
