Dress for November wedding? (Guest, not bride)

I want the impossible, I want a flattering, fitted
Dress that is forgiving over the mummytummy, has a wee bit of sleeve at least, and shows of my best feature, my legs. I also want it to less than £100. I'm 5ft 6 and a size 12 with biggish boobs. I dress for the age I like to think I look, which is late 20s.

Sooooo style and beauty geniuses. . . help?!

I am no help (sorry), but was about to ask the same thing. So will be watching with interest. Have BIL's wedding to attend in December.

How about something like this?

OPeaches · 30/10/2013 20:21

That's a nice dress tethers, but not for me. I missed out in my OP that I am Goblet shape - wide shoulders, which along with my boobs means anything that hangs loosely makes me look hugely fat. I need fitted yet forgiving!

OP, you could be me!! This is exactly the thread I was just about to start when it popped up in active convo's Grin

tethersend · 30/10/2013 20:27

Fitted, ok- will look.

Is something like this too long?

Oblomov · 30/10/2013 20:30

I love that portals dress. I don't have the figure for it, but I love it.

OPeaches · 30/10/2013 20:32

Rudolph, in that case you need this lipsy dress. It looks better on me than on the model, and that's not something I could say easily! (I usually feel like I look like a tractor in ribbons in a dress) If I hadn't worn it to the last two weddings I went to I'd be wearing it again. Next stock it online if you have an account.

Not keen on the bumfles of fabric at the top of the Mary portas one, but love the stomach-hiding bumfles.

I am too hard to please.

If you do buy lipsy Rudolph, size up, it's small made.

This?

OPeaches · 30/10/2013 21:34

Is this hideous? I like the cut but I've never worn animal print. It looks quite subtle though?

Thank you all for your suggestions, but nothing is jumping out at me. I'm horribly fussy :(

I like that, but I wouldn't wear it for a wedding.

If you're happy with that length, I will have another look.

PrimalLass · 30/10/2013 21:37

No I like it but at 5'6 it looks more like a long top than a dress.

tethersend · 30/10/2013 21:42

This would be lovely dressed up with heels and clutch.

ALittleBitOfHalloweenMagic · 30/10/2013 21:46

November weddings are so hard !! I have one in 3 weeks and I have no idea what to wear .

tethersend · 30/10/2013 21:47

This also nice.

OPeaches · 30/10/2013 22:01

I like that second mango one, although it would need a lot of accesorising, and that would be a whole other pile of angst! It'd be nice for work too.

OP posts:
tethersend · 30/10/2013 22:30

I'd wear a hat with that one for a wedding.

OPeaches · 02/11/2013 18:09

I've gone for this. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions.

Rudolph, have you found anything?
