Where to look?

Can be 50th birthday present from dh, so can be quite special … say up to £500.

Like something classic but a little quirky.

Any ideas?

Tag Huer? (sp)
Ebel?

What kind of watch do you want- sporty, blingy, plain, round, square face, metal strap, leather, gold plated???

scurryfunge · 30/10/2013 18:54

Was going to suggest a Tag but cheapest is around £700.

Merguez · 30/10/2013 18:56

current watch is square, gold face with leather strap.

I am open to lots of ideas.

Can you go any higher?
Omega and Tag are the best IMO but you are looking at £700- £1k.

scurryfunge · 30/10/2013 19:02

Nixon do some chunky blingy ones around £500.

missbopeep · 30/10/2013 19:05

That's a tricky price range- you will find plenty of designer watches in that bracket- £200-£500- but they are not known for their expertise in watch making.
skagen are nice and simple, but why not have a browse here

DH would be happy to pay more I think for quality that will last a lifetime.

I'm the one who doesn't like expensive things. DH has an Omega, will look at them.

Lost will to live on the Tag Heuer website.

Not keen on bling.

www.watchshop.com is a good place to look. They sell watches from 7.99 up to 5k.

In your price range I personally think Tissot are good watches, and Michael Kors have some nice new designs.

missbopeep · 30/10/2013 19:20

I have a small Omega constellation - no diamonds - and love it.

missbopeep · 30/10/2013 19:21

Tissot are good- my old one lasted 30 + years.

peasypeeler · 30/10/2013 19:21

My EBEL is my pride and joy and I never thought I'd say that about a 'thing' It's understated, classy and suits my personality. Prices vary and if you buy from Ernest Jones ask what their best price is :)

Inclusionist · 30/10/2013 19:23

I have a citizen with a round, black face and and silver strap that is smooth like a fish.

It was a 30th present and probably in that price bracket. I love it and I hate bling!

Bootoyou2 · 30/10/2013 19:26

I love tissot watches

Reb1973 · 30/10/2013 19:29

Thomas Sabo would be my choice.

Hubby bought me one of my birthday this year
