Eye Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes

I have been using Clinique take the day off, but the skin under my eyes have started to react with red marks after using it. Actually I have noticed this a lot with Clinique products when after a few months of use my skin starts to react with red patches.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

I've had reactions to various eye make up removers so for the past few years have used Avene Gentle Eye make up remover, about £9, I get it from Boots, not one problem since using it.

There is nothing in the world like Kiehl's Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover as long as you don't wear waterproof! A tiny blob on each eye, gently rub in, and remover with cotton pads moistened with tepid water...and it's gone with no stinging, watering or reaction.

Ps...when I saw a derm for my rosacea she told me that she got more referrals from reactions to Clinique than any other beauty brand, despite their claims to be gentle, fragrance-free, allergy-tested, clinically-tested etc!

I also like the idea of the Kiehls remover too.

I can't believe what has happened using Clinique. I was also using their Mild liquid face wash and got the red patches on the sides of my mouth and chin. I discontinued use, and they went away. I would never have classed my skin as sensitive either.

The only one I've found that doesn't make eyes Go crusty is Clarins gentle eye cleanser. NOT the one for sensitivo eyes, the oil in that stings and makes my eyes water.

The only thing I can use is baby lotion. It takes off eye makeup and is mild.

I use Simple eye make up remover. I have sensitive eyes & have no problems with this one.

The Bodyshop camomile one in a white bottle is great. Not sure if you can get it in Australia tho?

I use Johnson's daily essentials eye make up removal pads. I do have very sensitive skin (clinique ruined me) but have no problem with these pads

Clinique is apparently chock-full of chemicals but then isn't everything?

I find the watery blue L'Oreal one in a smallish plastic bottle to be excellent for sensitive skin -v soothing and only about £2 from Bodycare (and they often have offers on it in Boots).

Otherwise I'd recommend the Green People range if you have very sensitive skin, although I haven't specifically tried the eye make-up remover.

Apricot kernel oil or similar, using the oil cleansing method. It removes eye make-up brilliantly without irritating the skin. No nasty chemicals, not tested on animals, cheap, and gentle. Takes a little getting used to after using "normal" cleansers, but I love it.

La Roche Posay Micellar water is brilliant for taking all makeup off! It's so gentle too! I've only really just started using it and can't say enough about it!

Simple one is good and second the LA Roche Posay micellar water -just started using this from a re commendation on here and it is very good.

Garnier for Sensitive eyes. Cheap.
Everything else stings or is too oily for me.

What holly said- garnier sensitive (it's green, has cucumber in). really mild, everything else annoys my skin.

Trial and error I think
L'oreal micellar water and j&j unfragranced baby wipes are the only two I have found that work for me

I bought the keihl one and it is great. The red patches under my eyes have disappeared, thanks leoandboosmum Smile
