Keeping hair styled

I have soft straight hair in a bob and I've just got a babylis big hair which I love.

I've perfected styling it in a "looks like I've just had it blow dried in a salon" type shape and rough waves with my straighteners, but no matter what I do the style only lasts for an hour before it drops limply and shapelessly.

Any ideas on products or technique to keep it how it starts off?

Thanks in advance!

no advice, but mine is exactly the same after the babyliss big hair. grrrr. i was so pleased to finally get the knack of it, but less pleased that it only lasted an hour and then looked worse than if i had just blow dried and straightened as usual.

Before you dry it apply a blob of mousse and massage through hair.

Take your pick from whichever mousse is suitable

try a root volumising powder, there's a few about, you just sprinkle a bit on your roots and rub.

as for the curls I second putting a bit of mousse in damp hair but not too much as it will go crispy.

a bit of back combing as well wouldn't hurtSmile

With the big hair I use the elnett heat protect styling spray (the waves version), and sort of overstyle it, if that makes sense, so it's much bigger and bouncier than I would normally choose. I look very 80's for the first 20 minutes or so, but after that it drops slightly into place and the style tends to last longer than if I style it the way I want it to look in the first place. The root boosting powder suggested above is also good!

Thanks I'll try those. I already use mousse.
