Max Mara coat but primark budget?

I love the quality and warmth of a wool coat a la Max Mara, but also have a budget that doesn't allow me to have one. I've stalked eBay but haven't found anything in my winter colours in a 14-16.

I don't like the boxy cut of Cos et al as I want a classic shape that will last a few seasons.

Who else does nice wool warm winter coats? Or where can I get a Max Mara coat for a lot less.

Trixy I love that H&M coat too - wish I was flat chested enough to wear it!

I was going to suggest Zara too. I haven't actually looked to see what they have this winter but I got a beautiful fitted, belted black wool coat there in 2005 which is still going strong!!!! I adore it. The lining is going but the outside is still immaculate despite being worn for work almost every day in the winter for a good 6 years or so.

So I wouldn't dismiss them straight off, maybe keep an eye out.

Unfortunately I think finding the perfect winter coat is a bit like trying to find boots when you have something specific in mind....it can take a few years!

For what it's worth, I think if you find the perfect coat and you can stretch to say £150 or more then I don't think you would regret it when you are still wearing it in a few years time. Obviously a sale bargain is great, but cheap coats can be a false economy.

snow, I'm not flat chested either. I know it probably won't look right on me, but I have it in my basket, it's only £36.39 with those discount codes. I'm sooo tempted!

You definitely should trixy I am long waist to shoulder - so belted items rarely hit my waist. It's so beautiful though, well cut, interesting design with a good wool content - and at that price it would be rude not to!
