Returning items without receipt

I've changed my mind about a couple of things I bought in a hurry. One is from Primark & one from H&M but I can't find my receipts for either. Do you think they'll let me exchange for something else without receipt, tags still on?

They are not legally obliged to but may use discretion to give you a credit note or vouchers instead, if only at current value.

H&M are usually really good with exchanges I have found. never had a problem with them.

totally up to the shop though if the goods aren't faulty

Did you pay by cash or a card?

Bank statements etc can be used as proof of purchase.
