Zara-sizing question

I wear a size 10 in most places, would a Zara medium fit me does anyone think? I've never bought anything Zara before but have seen a coat that I love, will have to order it to home as no stores nearby but have heard horror stories about sizes. Does anyone know??

Probably, I am a 12 and wear a large, it depends on the item though sorry.

lurkingaround · 26/10/2013 20:41

Zara will tell you an M is a size 10. But like Lady says, it depends. I am a 10-12 and usually wear a L. But I have a jacket that's S. So, it depends.

Argh!! It's the mid length puffer anorak, I don't know how to link on my phone! I really like it but as you've said the sizing is pretty hard to determine!

The medium is on it's way so fingers crossed! Thank you

Zara sizing is famously random, and the Trafaluc brand comes up smaller.

I would say Medium for a coat sounds fine.

eurochick · 27/10/2013 08:09

I'm a 10-12 and always wear a medium in zara.

LordPalmerston · 27/10/2013 08:12

Nice coat. Always size up

PiratePanda · 27/10/2013 08:18

Zara sizes are bizarre. They made me feel like a heffalump even when I was a slim size 10

LordPalmerston · 27/10/2013 08:26

Yup. Agree. Any jacket for anyone size 12. You need XL

HelloBoys · 27/10/2013 11:57

Zara sizing is strange.

can vary wildly from being medium to small - but am 10-12 now anyway with largish norks.

Nita2011 · 16/11/2013 21:10

I recently purchased the mid length puffer anorak in dark kakhi, wonderful colour and keeps you very warm, rather expensive.
yes the uk sizes from Zara are very hit and miss.as iam uk size 12/14,i tried both L and Xl.
L is very tight near the waist and hip,so tried XL and its perfect and roomy enough to wear a nice thick knitwear underneath.so i think a size L should be able to fit a size uk 10.(room for a thick jumper)
hope this is helpful.

OP - how tall are you? I've got Zara clothes varying from small - large. I'm 5' 6" and size 10.

bunnymother · 17/11/2013 06:45

Zara is a nightmare like this. I'm a small size 10 and bought a similar down coat, this season, in L, so I could fit at least one jumper on, too. Ridiculous. They do make great coats, though.

Financeprincess · 17/11/2013 14:03

Agree that Zara sizes are barking. For a coat, I'd size up a bit - you want to be able to fit a jacket/jumper/layers beneath it. I'm a 12 and I wear a large in Zara (!!!since when was a 12 large??) but I tend to go XL for coats.
