Why is Elnett hairspray sooooo stinky ??

It gives me a headache , is there anything similar that doesn't smell. I only use it occasionally but it's 'orrid !!

And expensive!
I like tressme hair spray!

I like the tresemme one too. Still stinky but half the price of elnett, and doesn't make my hair crispy like other cheaper brands!

Does it smell the same? It's given me a stinking headache all day and the smell is up my nose so I can't even wash it out!! Blurgh

I like the Tresemme spray too. It does have a scent but I don't find it overpowering or unpleasant, even though I often find artificial smells too much (I dislike Febreze for example).

I like the smell of elnett.. Reminds me of ballet exams when I was little and my mum used to cover my hair in the stuff!!!!!

Not sure if they still do it, but I used to buy unperfumed Elnett.

Yes, they still do the unfragranced one - I always get it. Look for the green band round the top.

I get the white one and I've never noticed the smell. I just close my mouth when I spray and leave the room immediately. I've tasted hairspray far too many time, very unpleasant.

i used the green one too, though it could be stronger!

I love the smell of Elnett, it's the smell of youth and a good night out. A bottle of wine while you're getting ready and out 'til 4am. Unfortunately can't manage any of this any more but a mere whiff brings it back

Yep, the unfragranced one smells of nothing. But I am sad cos I love the smell of the normal one, it just makes my dh retch :(

I use the un scented one.

It smells like my Mum, my Mum does not smell good.

I hate the smell of the ' normal' one.Agree with my DH on that one.

Got2be hairsprays smell amazing...well, amazing for hairspray!

This is very nice, should be at £6 a can BUT it's on offer at Boots right now, 2 for £8 so it balances out a bit...

Thanks Leo , I will look at that one... I only bought Elnett because of friggin Cheryl cole saying it wasn't sticky but she omitted to say it stinks !!!

YW... Maybe you could ask the SA if you could spray a tiny teeny bit into the lid to test the smell...just in case you don't like it :)

i like ELNETT , but I also like Garnier Fructis . I am a huge fan of any of L"Oreal products , think they are the best.
