Hair dye question

If I put a black hair dye over my bleached hair will it go black or will it go a dodgy colour? I'm growing my Mohawk out and think it will look better as shaggy black mop than a shaggy blonde / pink / purple / blue mop

If I remember correctly, I think if you put a brown, or indeed black in your case, straight onto bleach blonde hair, it can go green!

Bleached hair needs to be re-pigmented, so it needs to have a red based colour put on before any brown/black colours. However, I'm not a hairdresser I've just had a lot of experience in home hair colouring - disasters and success! So maybe a black cherry colour, something with a red tone to it? Good luck! :)

Ah, I thought that might be the case. I will pop a red permanent dye on this weekend then put the black over that.
