Shoes with 60s shift dresses?

I've just bought this Boden number. Hopefully the link will work. I think it'll be my Xmas Day dress.

What shoes do you think would be best? I think it I were wearing it out and about I'd wear boots, but can't imagine sitting in my MIL's overly heated house in boots.

And do you think black tights or will that be a bit Dennis the Menace as an ensemble? Thank you!

I should say I have the red one. As you might have guessed from the Beano reference. Thanks!

Vintage style from Topshop. The reviews on the site aren't great but I just bought these in dusky pink suede in the sale & they are beautiful. Smile. They would work perfectly with black opaques & the red dress.

How about these beauties?

Definately some kitten heels from mandarinashoes.co.uk/.

GertBySea · 21/10/2013 12:25

Oh my, I love all of them. Thank you. Esp the second ones.

So Ujjayiyou think black opaques ok? Not tooth of a clash with the red?

I like Leo's shoes but really really dislike the Topshop ones.

And please no kitten heels. Sex and The City ended a looooong time ago.

How about these?

Personally, given how plain the dress is I'd go for something like

these

Proper party shoes

NightLark · 21/10/2013 12:38

I have the black one of that dress, and it is lovely.
I wear it with boots or boden shoes www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Shoes-Boots/Heels/AR585-DPR/Womens-Wine-Tassel-Court.html, and have been very tempted by these boden www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Shoes-Boots/Heels/AR599-BLK/Womens-Black-Sixties-T-Bar.html

NightLark · 21/10/2013 12:39

Link fails x2

these

or

these

Twinklestein · 21/10/2013 13:43

Kitten heels are actually back, but personally I'd go for a style like or these or these - very Audrey Hepburn/Alexa Chung.

LeoandBoosmum · 21/10/2013 17:59

Not sure of your budget OP but I also like these:

www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0213-Z1C8-015H100&productvarid=0213-Z1C8-015H100-BLACK-42&refpage=shoes

Or, if the dress is a different shade of red from these and you are a three or a five you could have these:

www.atterleyroad.com/jacklyn-shoes-6.html

More sizes on Jigsaw but thirty quid dearer there!

I love the Hobbs' pair though! :)

GertBySea · 24/10/2013 06:44

Hello all. Sorry I didn't come back. I got made redundant.

I was about to buy bunny's first link but realised I already have quite a similar pair without the gold. In the light of recent events I think I will wear those. Thank you everyone!'
