Jumper Dresses - yay or nay?

I'm 5'5" and a 14 top - 12 bottom half with no waist to speak of.

I fancy the idea of a sweater dress to wear with boots and thick tights (rather than leggings and tunic look)

A couple in Primark were nice but a thick , chunky open weave (so I'd need a skin colour slip which is fine) But at the hormonal hot flush age, not so good.

Any finer knit ones? Textured but lighter than the heavy Primark ones.

Or are they just not a good idea?

fififolle · 21/10/2013 20:33

Gahhh! Why do I always see (better) codes just after I've placed my order?!

LeoandBoosmum · 21/10/2013 20:38

Awww.... :( Have more Cake
Maybe - if it was a big order - you could cancel and start again?

fififolle · 21/10/2013 21:03

Not worth it for £4!! I seem to have ordered fat face stuff then seem a code here, same with mint velvet a few weeks ago. Never mind... might just redo the fat face order! Halloween Smile

Yeah, Fifi, re-do your FF order...it'll make you feel better :)

Snow, I ordered this but have to wait six weeks for it (I don't wear cream too well near my face either but I'll just wear brights under it :)) Have wanted a nice aran knit for ages! Wish I could have gone for the gorgeous cardigan you bought but I'm just too short:

Thanks for that discount code! It made a big difference even though I only ordered on item! Brew Biscuit
Ps...I meant to ask... Did you buy the green dress from Celtic as well as the green Whistles' Elena dress? I liked the one on Celtic's site but was worried it'd look too same-y as the Whistles one... Confused

leo No I bought the Elena Dress from Whistles, using the 25% off Grazia code and the Tiger slouchy dress from Celtic. I haven't worn the Elena yet, it feel too special for everyday but I don't believe in keeping stuff for good....it was bought to be worn because I can't wear jeans/tight trousers due to a medical condition and this winter I'm determined to be warm

Btw keep you dresses in tip top bobble free condition by using a hair roller to de-fuss. it's incredibly effective and less risky and better than a razor. The rollers cost me 99p for 10 in Primark last year, they didn't work on dd's hair though, but at least we'll get some use out of them.

Hi , Snow There I was thinking for a moment you'd bought two almost identical green dresses! Grin The Tiger shade is beautiful but not one I can carry off...

I bought the green Elena dress during the promo too. Gorgeous, isn't it! I also have the navy Sara dress. Like you, I have been 'saving' them but in the end, I agree with you: they were bought to be worn! They are so comfy and versatile, who needs jeans and tight trousers?! :) I'm going to start getting into them and this beautiful - well, I think it's beautiful - Hobbs' jumper I bought last year that I haven't wanted to ruin by wearing Grin

I have also worn this coat ONCE since I got it for Christmas 2 years ago... I just open the wardrobe occasionally and admire it as a thing of beauty:

I love it so much I can't bear for it to look worn! Grin

I really appreciate that code you gave me - I literally can't wait to get my cardigan :) Thanks again for that!

Oh, I may try the rollers! Thanks for the tip! I have one of these somewhere but I cant find it. It is effective but the rollers would be cheaper than a replacement :)

Thanks again, Snow :)
See you around the boards, hopefully!
