I've never owned a pair, but am now in a position I can afford a pair of Uggs, and really want them!

I'd get the classic, short boot in chestnut like these

What do you think? Are Uggs still stylish enough (and I use that word loosely)? My usual get-up is skinny jeans and a cardi / jumper...

Any tips on where to buy / how to look after them (in wet / muddy weather) appreciated...

I love them. Cheaper in HOF though, certainly in store - looked at them today!

Do not wear in snow. Think you can get a waterproof spray thing? I only wear mine when it's dry and fair.

Not pissing on pp but you can wear them in snow/rain any weather.
Get a good quality suede protector and water will run off them.
I love my uggs and short chestnut are a good starting point!

tess really?! You mean I've missed out on wearing then when I could have?! Off to find a suede protector ...

Ruined a pair last year wearing them in the snow for the school run Haloween Sad

yes Woodword!! You've definitely missed out. I've had a few ten pairs over the years and none have been ruined by snow. My top tip is to spray regularly, and with two coats before going out in the snow Wink

would something like this work?

FracturedViewOfLife · 19/10/2013 20:06

I got my first pair yesterday.

I resisted for years because I think they are really ugly. My feet are currently toasty warm and really comfy. I wish I had bought them earlier Grin

I'm going to get some waterproof spray for them when I'm next out.

Yes, yes, yes. You won't give a bugger about modish footwear from the moment your tootsies feel the warmth. I love mine.

TessCackle · 19/10/2013 20:16

That looks good Woodword!
