Interview clothes?

Would it be ok to wear a dress with a leather biker jacket at an interview? Would be a waste of money for me to buy a suit as I would never wear again so just wondering what else is acceptable? Could I wear smart blouse, trousers and leather biker jacket? Please help !!

Absolutely not. Sorry. I am a manager in the recruitment industry btw. Unless the vacancy is in an industry where this could be acceptable (media related?) it would be an out and out no no. Even in somewhere like the media industry as an example this look may not go down well with a HR manager.

I would go for a co-ordinating or clashing cardigan as a cover-up and if you need to funk it up a bit do it with bold jewellery / scarf / belt etc.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Just to be clear the dress or trousers with blouse would potentially be fine, as long as they were suitable, just the leather that wouldn't be.

Same as NotAll - unless it's media I can't think in which field the biker jacket might be acceptable ?

Ok thanks I didn't think so. It's not in media but social care. Would my smart coat be ok over trousers and blouse or would that not look right?

Coat over trousers & blouse tends to be what I wear to interviews, though it's a different field from social care. As long as it's not a really bad clash of colours, I should think it will be fine.

Ok thanks that's great.
