Please help resolve my chronic ankle boot indecision!

Trying to choose some new ankle boots and can't make up my mind. Apologise that I've already asked views on some of these before - even said I was going to get one of them but re-visited Covent Garden again today and started to waver, so votes/ comments on the 3 below welcomed, please.

Open to other suggestions but not Clarks, please, or higher heels (like them as long as they're chunky-ish, but can't wear them).

  1. meh.
  2. hmm, ok.
  3. like.
LittlePandaBear · 18/10/2013 21:10

I prefer the middle ones, the Duo boots, because the other two are too masculine for me. That's not to say the other two are horrible, just not to my taste!

Dancealot · 18/10/2013 21:38

Don't like the first pair. Love the second pair and like the third.

AlexaChelsea · 18/10/2013 21:40

Three are the nicest.

fasterthanthewind · 18/10/2013 21:51

i like the geox ones!

(is there a geox shop in C Garden - might go, if there is...)

GoofyIsACow · 18/10/2013 21:53

Exactly what dancealot said,
1 dont like
2 love
3 just ok

Nombrechanger · 18/10/2013 22:02

Like the geox ones the best!

RFLmum · 18/10/2013 22:06

Look up fly London. Think you might like them. They sell them in office

polyhymnia · 18/10/2013 22:56

Thanks for comments so far - quite evenly split in fact.

Yes there's a Geox right opposite Covent Garden tube.
Pretty sure there's a Fly London near there too - must seek it out next time.

Indecision here too, #1 look lovely but more than I'd pay for ankle boots.
#3 meh.
#2 horribly like rigger boots espesh in tan - screwfix for less ££ Smile

On price, they are all quite a lot tbh - and all a similar amount - but I'm prepared to pay it because have had boots from both Geox and Duo before and both have lasted brilliantly.

Although I like biker boots and lace up brogues boots in general, I don't like either of the Duo ones. They're both cut really oddly.

So, I'd say the Geox ones.

polyhymnia · 19/10/2013 11:09

Bump for any further views - the vote is still pretty evenly split.

  1. Not keen on the other pairs at all.
NigellasGuest · 19/10/2013 11:18

although I do think it's impossible to judge on boots alone - I really believe you need to take into account your overall style.

AndTwoBits · 19/10/2013 11:43

I only like the geox ones

Chottie · 19/10/2013 11:47

Another vote for Geox :) I have Geox boots on their third winter now and they are like new, so cost-per-wear they work out not so expensive.

polyhymnia · 19/10/2013 17:18

nigellas guest, hard to sum up my style.

I'm tall with large hourglass figure and long legs.

I guess my style's mostly 'smart casual' (having in past spent many years in smart work clothes for my job). Like things which are a bit quirky/unusual but not OTT. Wear mostly designer-ish black or dark indigo skinny jeans with long tops - striped, plain, or sometimes in subtle (ie, not Boden 'fun')patterns - and cashmere sweaters, or else dresses, often knitted ones with a flippy skirt, with nice opaques and ankle boots. Like interesting scarves, bags which aren't too structured, and interesting, not itsy-bitsy, necklaces. Have a black leather biker.

Choppy short blonde highlighted hair, cut at Aveda in Covent Garden, and often wear my (large tortoiseshell Tom Ford at the moment) glasses. Like 'no make-up' make-up.

Don't know if this helps.

I'm not any kind of expert and others may say differently but it sounds to me that 1 or 2 suit your style more, and are more likely to give you better value for money? Number 3 would suit my style I think, which is why I said I like 3 best. Sounds like number 3 would look good on you too but that 1 or 2 would go with more of your outfits. I'm thinking 3 would be nice with your knitted flippy skirted dresses but generally 1 and 2 a bit better especially as you prefer the more slouchy style of bag...
just my thoughts!

Thanks so much for all the comments. And thanks for the thoughtful explanation, nigellasguest.

Any final votes before I decide tomorrow?
