Lancôme La Base Pro primer

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I love the idea of primers, but have never got on with any in the past. They leave a grey tinge to my complexion, even under foundation, and I end up looking like a cadaver when I use them. :-/ Not great.

Anyway, this Lancôme one looks like it is clear, and so would eliminate tha risk.

Anyone vouch for it?

I do! Out of all the primers I have tried this is by far the best and stops makeup sliding off your face and you only need to use a little bit so it lasts for ages. The only thing is I find it better to use a separate eyeshadow primer I use urban decay primer potion and my makeup lasts until I take it off Smile

I hated it. It just felt so greasy. Lucky I got a sample to try.
I'm going to try Urban Decay.

ScooseIsLoose · 18/10/2013 10:09

Megbeth the urban decay primer shadow potion is brilliant but I also have the makeup primer and it's not the best imo

I use Laura geller primer. It's very good.
I got a large pot of it for about £24 about a year ago
I use it everyday and there is still about a fifth left.

GrandstandingBlueTit · 18/10/2013 20:01

But is it clear?

Or is it, like so many others, the colour of a generic caucasian complexion?

I have a caucasian complexion, but I at least want to look as if I haven't passed into the next world when I wear primer. Grin

The Laura geller one I have makes you skin tone even. I believe it's ok for all skin colours.
I have olive skin that can look sallow.
My make up last every well.

ScooseIsLoose · 19/10/2013 08:55

The Lancôme one is clear

BunnyLebowski · 19/10/2013 09:05

Illamasqua Hydra Veil primer is the best I've ever ever ever used.

And I've used a lot Grin

It's incredible. Seriously.

BunnyLebowski · 19/10/2013 09:05

Oh yeah, it's a clear gel as well.

Megbeth · 19/10/2013 12:09

Thanks ScooseIsLoose. I will just try the eye primer then.

GrandstandingBlueTit · 19/10/2013 19:30

Thanks all, this is really helpful.

I'm only interested in clear ones, because I've spent a fortune on various 'miracle' primers that people utterly swear by, and it's always the same result. An unflattering grey pallor under my make-up.

You need lanacane anti chaff gel, it is the same ingredients as the expensive Smash box one and is amazing and totally clear. Best of anything I've tried and I've tried them all pretty much.

GrandstandingBlueTit · 19/10/2013 20:44

Ooh, fab. Thanks valium.

Just to add, make sure you get the specific anti chaff gel and NOT the lanacane cream for itchy intimate bits!Grin
