Was very excited to beable to wear my uniqlo long sleeved top yesterday but I'm really dissappointed. I thought the HEARTECH was supposed to be really good.

I found the silk mix stuff from M&S amazing.

I've just bought the kids some from decathalon. They had them in adults too. Kids were £4.99 or three items for £12 so we got two long sleeved tops and one pair of legging. Ds will wear them under his now suit for sledging and playing out. He says they are very warm. Also tight and thin.

Patra silk thermals are brilliant.

Shame you didn't get on with Heattech, I wonder why? I LOVE mine, if anything it's a bit too warm for me, fine if I am outside all the time, but often have to nip and take them off indoors.

I got the Celia Birtwell ones if that makes a difference

M&S heatgen are good I think.

But I imagine they are similar to the the Uniqlo ones? I wear mine under a sweater and tuck them into my jeans. They are very cosy!

I got a Land's End catalogue the other day and they have some silk thermals. (Yes I read it cover to cover Blush, darned catalogue addiction.....)

I think these are the ones. Not cheap.

Icebreaker. I wear a 200 all the time but they do thicker ones which I love too. I've been known to literally wear them day and night. They do brilliant leggings too. Merino, so not itchy and hold their shape brilliantly. Expensive, but when you live in a cold house with an outdoors life like I do, it's a necessity.
