Post natal girdles

I'm hoping to buy a 'bellefit dual closure girdle' but I'm having great difficulty finding one on the net (apart from ordering from the US website which is extortionate). Has anyone managed to buy one in the UK, online or in store? If so, do you recommend?

I'm 39 weeks and 5 days, bump is veeeeeerrrrrry large :-)

Ebay have post natal belly bands for £25 ish .

Why would you want to put yourself through extra discomfort and pain after giving birth? Please concentrate on looking after yourself not forcing your body into a corset.

I planned to do this but thankfully made sure I could return the one I bought as in the early weeks when it's supposed to help putting it on was very uncomfortable 'down below' and so I returned it as couldn't wear it.

Wearing girdles after giving birth has been in the media due to some celebrities allegedly having worn them.

I say allegedly because celebrities are often paid to mention products without them actually using the product. So please take any celebrity claims of a girdle getting them back into a size zero figure in a couple of weeks, with a pinch of salt.

Even if the girdle was worn by a celebrity they have thousands of pounds at their disposal and assistants to do their chores.

They also have personal trainers and diet chefs ready at a moments notice to help them get in shape and eat healthy.

I doubt that you have the time, money or inclination to stay out of the public eye for numerous weeks and appear with a shop mannequin figure after weeks of allegedly wearing a girdle.

Macy celebrities will often have a tummy tuck, liposuction and other cosmetic procedures after gaining weight because looking the way they do is their livelihood.

Enjoy being a mum, the weight will come off, especially if you breast feed, but if you don't then the weight will come off as looking after a baby brings lots of natural exercise such as up and down stairs and long walks pushing a pram.

I don't think it's something to be ruled out. I was recommended to do something post birth by my physio due to the massive separation in my tummy muscles. Apparently it would help bring them together again as would stop them getting bounced around and stretched.

I wear primark spanx type things some days but mostly let it all wobble around, so no idea if it helps.

It wasn't expensive and it really did help. I was back into my normal trousers within 2 weeks.
I'd buy two. That way you can wash one whilst wearing the other. They get sweaty.
Make sure it covers the top of your hip bones or everything just gets squished into a skin apron.
