Help! What to wear - a work do with creative / media types?

DP and I have been invited to our friend's launch party for her new business in late November. (DP has done some freelance for her). It's a creative venture, and the party will be a big do, lots of creative & media types there.

I haven't been out anywhere you need to dress up in ... oh forever! I do have smart black-tie / weddingy stuff but that's much too formal. The rest of my wardrobe is jeans (which I'm trying to wean myself off!) and casual knee-length or above dresses which I usually wear with leggings. So I'll need to get something.

I'm a size 16, have a massive stomach (look about 6 months pregnant!) and not really up for wearing heels. Oh and I need to find something cheap too as I'm pretty skint!

I'm not sure where to start. I'd like to be nicely dressed but not too formal / boring! Maybe even a bit quirky. Any ideas gratefully received!

TIA :)

Ooh, I should have said, I have huge boobs! (Was a 38G before having DD, not been measured since having her 6 months ago, but roughly about the same I think). So I'll need something which is flattering for the larger chested!

Everyone round here seems to be wearing leather leggings although I suspect most will be fake!

Ooh, what happened to that message I wonder? Were they selling the dress? That dress is the colour of my old school uniform anyway so definitely not for me!

trixymalixy are they, really?! These things really do seem to pass me by! I'm veggie tough so no real leather leggings for me anyway!
