It's been a looooong time since I got anything other than a cut and blow dry at the hairdressers, and I just wanted to do a quick market survey on price so I can shop around with some idea of what's an acceptable price.

What do your hairdressers usually charge for a full head/half head of highlights?

Thanks!

Thirty eight quid in little local salon for full head of foils here....I save four quid a week for ten weeks to have mine done regularly ish Smile

MagratGarlik · 09/10/2013 10:59

About £25 for a full head of highlights here, but I'm up north and it's a small local salon.

Ujjayi · 09/10/2013 11:33

£70 for full head here (Bucks). There also seems to be a sliding scale according to skill level of the hairdresser.

Nusatenggara · 09/10/2013 11:35

I would say over £100 easily (SE) but I have a mobile hairdresser do it for half the price and every bit as good if not better.

EastwickWitch · 09/10/2013 12:07

£100 at Toni & Guy, £40 for a mobile hairdresser (that works at Toni & Guy)

Thanks all. I'm in the south (Is there such a thing as South Central? I'm neither East nor West) so I'm going to guess it'll be the higher end of the price range.

Definitely sounds like a mobile hairdresser is the best option (price-wise), shall ask my friend if she can check the price with her mobile lady.

£40 for a half head, cut answer blow dry. Small independent salon in the Midlands.

Frettchen · 10/10/2013 11:02

Thanks for the number Caroline however I'm in Hampshire, not London so it'd be a bit of a commute.

I've had a look at some of the local salons (villagey ones, not town centre chains) and the prices seem to be about £60-£70, which seems in line with what you're all saying. Now just have to pick the cut/style and the colours!
