Bruised by new bra?

I was fitted a couple of days ago, and was put somewhere between a 28G and a 30F. As I've been wearing a bra with too big a back she suggested the 30F might be more comfortable while I got used to a tighter band, and if it was a bit loose I could always go down when I bought another.

Anyway, I was really pleased with it. My bust looks really good, and my shoulders don't hurt but I have a bruise on my breastbone right where the wires sit in the centre. I think the back is right (if not slightly too big) but don't know why it would bruise if that's the case.

Any ideas please?

What bra is it?

Have you got a wide or narrow gap between your breasts? How far can you pull the band away from your body? A 30FF would have the same volume cup as a 28G so I'm surprised you were advised to have a 30F.

It's a Panache Idina.

Probably a wide gap. I can pull the band out and fit four fingers in between the bra and my body quite easily.

Is it the Balconette? If so I had that bra and I found it quite stiff and tight for the first few wears. I very gently bent the wires in the gore out a little bit and around the bottom I bent them into more of a body shaped curve. It seemed to do the trick!

It does sound though that you should try a 28FF or a G.

Do you get any overspill if you scoop while wearing the 30F? It's two cup sizes smaller in volume than a 28G.

I was told in bravissimo that panache bras have quite hard underwires, i have a couple of their bras, and wear a 30, even though i'm probably a 28 and the wires hurt until i wore them for a while. They're fine now though.

Yep, it's the balconette. I'll persevere for a day or two (although it hurts, the wires press right on the bruise) and the maybe try bending the wires slightly.

How do I scoop, just put my hand in and re-arrange? I'll have a go.

Yep, I'm spilling out of it when I scoop everything in. Not bad on the right cup, but definitely on the left. Bother, why didn't she tell me to do that at the time?

I'll try a 28FF/G next time then. Thank you Smile

Ok those cups are definitely too small! Be prepared to try a 28FF/G/GG! You should always scoop as per The Bra Guru Guide.
