New Gossard advert

I'm not posting this to be bitchy (well, maybe just a little bit Grin) but more to highlight the difference between the real body and the ad...

gossard have done us a favour by showing Sophie Anderson in the flesh as it clearly shows what airbrushing can do. There's nothing wrong with Sophie's body but it's clearly not as lean and lithe as the ad would suggest.

I'm a cynical old hag who never believes ads anyway anymore but for anyone out there who looks at this ad and feels bad about themselves, look at the reality and you'll see that her body is no better than us mere mortals.

That ad was 17 years ago and her body has barely changed apart from her skin showing natural ageing. Her body is better than most. Good for her. I love Gossard Glossies and wear them all the time (The Bra) as I hate padding and like the natural lines the bra gives.

I'm glad to see the bra is still going strong. Hope you feel better later on Queen (saw your MNVogue post).

Oh mig don't get me wrong, she's still got a fab body in the flesh but the new ad is clearly recreating the ad of 17 years ago and it just shows how much subtle airbrushing is involved. You could look at that ad and think 'why don't I look that good at 36?'. Yet when you see her in the flesh you realise that she does look 36.

I'm ok thanks mig. Feeling better knowing that although I don't look like Sophie in the ad, I'm not doing too badly compared to her real body Wink

Sorry, realised what I wrote sounded abrupter than what I meant but thought I couldn't post again as would look a bit Hmm. Sorry, sorry Flowers.

God yes the airbrushing they do is ridiculous. The Jennifer Lawrence cover on US Vogue shows a neck of improbable anatomy-ruler straight. Looks weird.

SorrelForbes · 08/10/2013 08:14

And on top of all that, her bra still doesn't fit properly

mignonette · 08/10/2013 08:21

You look amazing in your Westwood Queen. Totally beautiful. Nothing wrong with you at all.

I do recommend these bras. They are lovely, feel lovely and DH loves them Wink.

QueenCadbury · 08/10/2013 09:18

BUt mig, the westwood is corseted. It's as good as airbrushing Grin

Grin. The bits not covered looked pretty good too Queen

It is nice to see her real body, sans airbrushing. It is incredible, but still has, you know, skintone and the odd teeny weeny incy little dimple and things. So she's only 98% perfect Grin

tbh I'm not so sure that a little bit of airbrushing hasn't gone on in these pics. There certainly seems to be a sharp line on some of her limbs and the light is very odd in places where it shouldn't be.
