Blonde home dye

I have warm light brown hair now going grey at front. Have been having blonde highlights for years but it is so expensive not to mention time consuming that I don't go much so grey is showing through quite a bit. I know from my youthful days that dyeing it myself resulted in orange hair. Any tips on how to go blonde instead of orange?

I had to keep dying til the orange tint went but I was going peroxide blonde.

What colour blonde?

Light blonde but sunkissed I would say. V white blonde looks odd with my freckles. At same time strongly want to avoid orange.
