Can anyone tell me which they think is better? Thanks

I've not tried the Clarins but LOVE the Elemis, not sure that helps you compare the two though!

MrsBertMacklin · 06/10/2013 16:37

Flash has a lifting tightening effect that you can feel, but I could never see much difference. More importantly, it has a nasty habit of forming little balls of product on your face if you start rubbing at it, which you will, if you want to put makeup on top.

Elemis has no effect you can feel, but makes skin look brighter and sits happily under makeup.

Bowlersarm · 06/10/2013 16:38

I have both at the moment. Prefer Clarins.

PoppyAmex · 06/10/2013 16:42

I have used both and preferred Elemis, but a few months ago I tested a product for Red Magazine that knocked it out of the park.

It has just been released and here are the details

Not tried the elemis one, but love BFB. Never had any issues, it definitely makes my skin look brighter and fresher.

MsWinnieBaygo · 06/10/2013 17:15

I'm in the camp where BFB flakes off my skin in bits. Can only use it as a mask which I then wash off 10-15 min later. If I use it as a primer or moisturiser it goes all 'ball-y' on my skin.

Not impressed with BFB at all tbh.

lowra · 06/10/2013 17:42

Ah thanks. Think I'm gonna go with the elemis.

I have both. Prefer clarins. When I apply the elemis one it flakes off my skin.

lowra · 06/10/2013 19:27

Well I have no idea which to go for. This thread is split 50/50...

Was monumentally unimpressed with the Elemis (left a metallicy cast that the Tinman would have been envious of) one but used to love BFB back in the day.

FoxPass · 06/10/2013 20:06

If your BFB is balling up on your skin you're rubbing it in too much. You want to apply it as a film for your make up to sit on top of.

how to apply primer properly to avoid that problem, watch from 7.30 mins.
LogonMounstuart · 06/10/2013 20:09

BFB is great. Do not like the Elemis at all- also really hate the smell.

carlywurly · 06/10/2013 20:23

Elemis gives me ridiculously shiny skin. Love Clarins flash balm though.

lowra · 06/10/2013 21:03

I have done a U turn and ordered the clarins.

Poppy I've been meaning to try this.
So you liked it?

PoppyAmex · 08/10/2013 18:18

Sorry coffee just saw your post.

I was very sceptical when they sent it, but must admit it is impressive, especially considering the price.

It's really a treatment serum, not a BB cream (so no pigmentation) and yet it seems to even out and illuminate the skin very efficiently.

I have found myself using it in detriment of the Elemis balm and even my beloved Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate Oil.

marleebrodie · 08/10/2013 19:49

Love the Elemis one smells gorgeous...

coffeeinbed · 08/10/2013 20:52

Thanks Poppy.
I need a treatment serum, have been dithering between Genifique, which I liked last year, the YSL one and this, which my DS uses.
