I bought this recently and love it:
www.cosstores.com/Shop/Women/Knitwear/Wide_roll-neck_jumper/46889-3301796.1#c-85342

In fact I love it do much I bought it in black today.

Anyway I very gently washed in on the delicate cycle, 30degree wash, 30 mins, very low revs, with a drop of woo lite, with my other tops and it has come out half the size it went in!! I'm raging. It says machine washable on delicate cycle on the website. Is there anything can be done to salvage it? I have done my best to stretch it out but it's really f@cked I think. Have I comeback with cos? I'm going to hand wash the black one when it needs washing. I hate hand washing!

They should have tested the top to make sure it has the correct instructions on it and it's their responsibility to get it right...so Yes take it back , if they won't refund you then ask them to send it off to
Be tested . This will prove what setting you washed it on and will cost them alot if they are wrong so will probably just refund . I would call head office in advance and talk to them first if you are unsure of the shops response . ( I haven't ever dealt with cos ) .

Good plan.. I always find head office gets a better response than the shops.

Thanks for the advice. I'd be happy to send the top back to them for testing actually. I have nothing to hide, I was so so careful with it's washing grrrr! I suppose I'll just wait and see what they say now. It's just annoying is all.

It is , I always take things back if they shrink or go out of shape .. I doubt it was cheap so I would be cross too..

The spin cycle makes them shrink. Not much that you can do, but could try to soak it in water and hair condition, dry flat and iron while still damp on high using a cloth to protect.

But if it says machine wash on the label then it should be machine washable .

KatyS36 · 06/10/2013 13:50

I would just take it back for a full refund. I have done this before with similar and have never had a problem - sometimes needed to be very assertive though!
