Hi I've lost 5 stone since January and since I have my tummy looks not too bad I do have loose skin but its bare able for now but if I lean forward (I.e to check bath temp when naked) the whole lot falls forward and looks disgusting. I cycle 85+miles a week to get to and from work and do 30 sit-ups a night (just started them a week ago) can someone tell me that with working this area it will improve!? I really don't want surgery I see that as an easy and expensive way out with horrible recovery so it's not an option but I want to loose my tummy someone please tell me it's possible! ?

It will probably get better as times goes along but if it's just skin then the only way to get rid of it is to cut it off .. In my life I have been size 22 and size 6 and had two babies . My tummy as it's slimmest is fat but I have too much skin. It makes it worse if you have good stomach muscles because the skin just hangs .. Be proud of yourself for losing the weight and just keep at the exercise . Smile

I read that it can take two years for skin to adjust to weightloss, so you could find it tightens a little more on its own.

Also you could try daily self-massage with cocoa butter or oil to stimulate the skin renewal.

But well done on your weightloss!

My skin does just hang it looks horrible it i was a 22 I'm now edging into a 12 I really want to get the old menace as I really let myself go when I had postnatal depression so I really am trying I feel great most of the time but the tum does get me down a little I hope it shrinks back more with exercise and I will try the cocoa butter moisturiser to help. Thank you for your responses Smile

Nivea do a skin firming body lotion. I think it really helped after I had DS2

Anything is worth a go .. Body wraps could help maybe?

Watching this thread with interest. I have lost five and a half stone over the past year or so, going from a size 20 to a size 10. I don' have saggy skin anywhere else, just my tummy. I'm guessing that 3 pregnancies and 2 c-sections haven't helped.

I would love to know how to get rid of it without surgery.

Thank you :) there are a few good tips in there! My weight loss had slowed down as I've started to introduce more foods to my diet I had cut out completely before to percent such a fast loss as I've started a new job that involves cycling 16miles a day so figured this would mean fast losses which I don't want as that's how I ended up with my tummy as it is. well that and having had 2 kids and not doing the tummy exercises that were recommended after the births. I know I need to be patient with and let the skin shrink back but it's not always easy when I see a nice dress and don't like my tummy in it so end up not buying it. It is nice to be in Smaller clothes though!

Skin will shrink back a bit, weight loss will make it worse because the skin hasn't got the plumpness from the fat. Exercise will tone the muscle but will have no effect on the skin. Keep exercising for health benefits. Get some magic knickers, accept your new body or have surgery. I think everything else is a waste of time and money, I wish I was wrong. Sad

Some days it doesn't look as bad as others to day is one of those days. I managed 40 sit ups last night with my hands raised so its getting easier I just hope it helps fix my problem area as much as possible for me.
