I need root volume!

Could someone please recommend something that will just give my roots a bit of lift? I wear my hair up most of the time in a sort of messy midway bun, which I quite like except for that fact that my roots just sit flat against my scalp.

I tried an Aveda volumising serum convinced it would work "because it was expensive" but found it greasy and pretty useless tbh. Am also open to a few styling tools if need be.

I'm off to town tomorrow and determined to return wiith something which works!

Try a salt spray they are matt not greasy and give you the kind of texture and lift you get from a day at a windy beach. Spray in and blow dry for some volume before you put your hair up?

Tigi root boost is really good and comes in a massive can so lasts for ages Smile or -I wear my hair similar to what you described a lot and batiste dry shampoo in xxl volume is amazing !

Sali Hughes has recommended a product set by SWELL - google, am ever in the quest for volume so have ordered their starter kit to see what it's like

Babyliss Big Hair dryer thingy and a blast of Batiste dry shampoo at roots?

Blast your roots upside down, Batiste and a little gentle backcombing might help.
