Best place for shape wear?

I've bought this dress to wear for a party & would like something to try & contain my less flattering wobbly bits (mainly post 2 baby tummy).

Can anyone recommend a few ideas and somewhere with a good range where I could actually take my dress and try it on with the shape wear to see if it works?

I'm tired of control pants that just push the fat over the top Confused

Spanx Higher Power in nude are the business (come up to just beneath your boobs). Going to he toilet is a bit awkward as it involves wriggling out again, but they do a blummin' fantastic job !

I find Primark shape wear really good & a fraction of the price of anywhere else. I have worn their all in one that comes under your bust so you wear a bra with it. Great for me as I wanted to control my tummy but not flatten my boobs. Their day to day control Cami's are great too ... Smooths out any wobbly bits. Grin

I find shapewear looks great when you put it on. However, it may be my particular shape but, high waisted pants always roll down and long camisole tops ride up. Neither is an attractive look! I can't bring myself to wear an all in one as I sometime need to get to the loo quickly and I hate the hooks and eyes or poppers at the crotch.

TK Maxx always seem to have a good range of shapewear.

john lewis? though i agree with TK maxx they have large range of different types of shapewear and i've always been really happy with the items i've got from there.

i recently got \link{http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-firm-control-all-in-one-body-suit/p43582?colour=Camel#tabinfo-ratings\this} from JL and quite like it, it's not too tight!

This Marks & Spencers slip is ace. You can order it & try it on at home.

Slips the only kind of shapewear I'd bother with, the rest are a nuisance.

Does it stay down Twinklestein, or does it ride up and bunch around your waist by lunchtime?

lowra · 06/10/2013 13:57

Lovely dress.

Twinklestein · 06/10/2013 14:17

It stays down fine on me.

NewNameforNewTerm · 06/10/2013 14:27

Thanks, I'll order one then.

won't that slip dress show at the back?

The dress you've bought - which is beautiful - has a low cut back.

I agree that a control slip is what you need though - definitely not knickers or those cycling short things because you'll get overspill.

Figleaves has a good range of control wear
