what about Benefit Benetint? Do they still make it?

I'm thinking it might be more subtle than a powder blush as a starting point maybe Confused

I could not get on with it, but get them to test it on you first?

willybreeder · 04/10/2013 12:12

In Superdrug they have a brand called mememe which is basically a rip off Benefit! I think their version of Benetint and Posy tint (more oeachy/pink) is good and a third of the price

squoosh · 04/10/2013 12:26

They still make benetint but I think it's a lot trickier to use than a powder blush. Much more potential for ending up looking like Aunt Sally.

A pale pink powder blush dabbed on your cheeks is the most natural way to use blush in my opinion.

Vibbe · 04/10/2013 12:42

I don't have Benetint, but I do find liquid blushers much harder to work with than powders and creams.

Some blushers are very pigmented (such as Sleek) and they can be hard to apply. I find that most Mac blushers are less pigmented.
I like applying the very pigmented blushers with a fluffy domed brush, such as the Real Techniques Blush Brush. But still, a very light touch is needed.

lucysmam · 04/10/2013 13:07

Hmmm, seems like not so good an idea then (although I have no clue who aunt sally is Confused ). Will go back to looking at powder blush and a decent brush. ty Smile

Aunt Sally.

lucysmam · 04/10/2013 13:22

oooooh, no, I don't want to look permanently Blush ....Grin

Coralista is far nicer

AntoinetteCosway · 04/10/2013 13:42

The trick with benefit and similar is that you need to blend INSTANTLY, otherwise it's very easy to be left with two pink circles!

lucysmam · 04/10/2013 20:16

Is it worth a play with a cheaper version then? Or should I invest in a decent brush & try out some of the MUA quid ones I spied in Superdrug earlier?

I had forgot about Aunt Sally! Grin

Mummyoftheyear · 05/10/2013 09:02

Love Aunt Sally. Would rather look like her than Worzel (my wake-up look). Lol

I would love to find a blusher brush with integrated peachy blusher in it. Preferably refillable and a good brush. Knot seen anything like it, though.
Clinique any good? I was considering one of their brushes and blisters the other day.
My husband's grandma told me that they used to use the lipstick that they were wearing and rub it into the apples of their cheeks. Tried it. Good with tinted lip salves and softer coloured lipsticks.

OPeaches · 05/10/2013 09:10

I love benefit coralista. It's subtle but can also be built up.

I've not heard of mememe before, does it do a version of coralista?

plentyofsoap · 05/10/2013 09:13

Clinique blusher is good, but MAC blusher is better I have found. Eco brush by boots are fab too.

Steben · 05/10/2013 09:16

It's pricey but have you tried the new Chanel powder creme blusher? It's amazing - you may need to reapply but truly lovely product

Mummyoftheyear · 05/10/2013 11:59

Ooooh Chanel. Love it. Their products (those I've tried) just feel and look so much more sheet and beautiful

singaporeswing · 05/10/2013 13:19

I'd try a creme blush. MAC does various shades that are a little on the sheer side, but buildable.

lucysmam · 05/10/2013 13:26

Creme might be the way to go then....I shall have a look at Chanel next time I'm in town & have a wander in Debenhams on my own this time to see if there's a MAC counter. Was hard work wandering in there with the girls on Tuesday Confused

Agree Benetint is not as easy to use as cream or powder blush. You only have a couple of seconds to blend, then it stays put for hours.

Maybelline's cream blush pot works well (dream touch mousse). I haven't tried Bourjois cream blush but that looks interesting.

RainierWolfcastle · 05/10/2013 14:24

cream blush ALL THE WAY imo

MissDD1971 · 05/10/2013 18:22

it can be easy to blend. it can just sink in quickly and be hard to blend.

I used to use their Cha Cha Tint (same as Benetint I think) and then Maybelline creme blush mousse in apricot or whatever it is afterwards or the other way round. got 2 shots of colour and i think the creme blended nicely with the tint.

PS MAC do a great creme blush too which am currently using so I don't look like a corpse

SELondonSwede · 06/10/2013 07:05

Creme blushes give great results. MAC is my current favourite but borjouirs are great too and often on offer if you want to try them out.

Google some videos for application, lisa eldridge & sali hughes to name a few good ones.

RainierWolfcastle · 06/10/2013 07:22

i apply cream wih huge brush - is ace

LeoandBoosmum · 06/10/2013 14:36

Chantecaille powder blushes are beautiful and super high quality BUT pricey! They are very pigmented but go on naturally. And they do last quite a long time...I used one daily for about three months before I hit the pan at all.
