OK I can't believe I am 34 and still don't know this but how do people stop their eyeliner ending up all over their eyelids or smudged down their face by mid morning?! I use a rimmel gel one but tbh it seems to happen whatever I use

Use a matching powder eye shadow over top. If you're dying black gel liner, apply it, leave it a minute to dry, then use a thin brush to apply a line of black shadow over the gel liner.

Wow thank you so much - sounds difficult but worth a try!

this happens to me
I have tried all sorts
was using urban decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil which while it stays on your eyes it does transfer onto my eyelids and does travel as well, also is too soft

best one I hvae found is dior waterproof eyeliner...doesn't budge on me
here I have to work it in to get good colour tho

There are long lasting eyeliners. I use Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H which comes with a brush. It lasts really well on me. I have oily eyelids, and use a skin coloured eyeshadow and then the liner (either before or after).
Sometimes I use a black/dark brown eyeshadow on top of the liner, but not always, and it still looks okay at the end of the day.

I use the Dior waterproof eyeliner too in soft brown. Works well and you get a sharpener with it Smile

I really rate Benefit's bad gal waterproof liner. It really does stay put!

Flibbertyjibbet · 04/10/2013 17:25

Some eyeliners are too soft, but I find any smudge if I am putting them on top of moisturiser.

Either let your moisturiser/eyecream sink in before you put eyemakeup on, or use a more lightweight or gel type one which sink straight in.

Any surplus moisturiser and the eyeliner cant get a grip on your skin.

I tight line using Laura Mercier cakeliner - it doesn't shift until I need it to.

I started a similar thread and have now discovered Soap and Glory Supercat. Bloody brilliant even on the oiliest of eyelids.

soontobeburns · 06/10/2013 15:36

I have this too!! All those eyeliners seem good but way over my budget. Sorry to hijack but any good ones for under £5?

frankietwospots · 06/10/2013 19:09

I think Supercat was £6 but I got it with Advantage points :-)

Very cheap one (£1)in superdrug mua. It's great, easy to apply & doesn't budge
