Have I lost the plot...

Ok, so this maybe slightly verging out of style and beauty....

It's my birthday next week and I asked my mum for some money toward snow boots was originally planning on getting these

But what I really want is something for walking dog doing school run popping to the shops but also fine when it is icy so want something with a good grip.....

So now I think I want these I really like them but worried I have lost it.

If anyone can find anything better my criteria is:
Preferably under £100
Good grip
Flat
Preferably no laces but will consider laces just I'm a bit lazy and prefer something I can just step into

Or assure me the Dr martens are fine and I won't look like a builderConfused

The Doc Martens are gorgeous! Much better than the first ones imo

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/10/2013 20:41

DMs much nicer than the others. The others are (sorry) ghastly.

WipsGlitter · 03/10/2013 20:43

First ones are horrible. Second ones are lovely.

Great thanks ladies!

I ahem feel I need to explain that the first ones were only for different criteria of only walking the dog on the ice not for daily wear...

Those Dm's are really nice. I was dubious at first after seeing the first pair but I love them.

The first ones are more like yard boots (that horseriders wear to muck out).
The DM are actually rather nice (in a non builder way)

NomDeOrdinateur · 04/10/2013 09:31

The DMs will be lovely - really comfortable, practically indestructible, and you'll be able to get them resoled when they eventually do begin to wear out. I only wear DMs now, and I've never had a pair let me down.

The DMs are nice but I do find that mine don't grip as well on ice and snow as you would think. They are quite old though so maybe I just need to splash out on a new pair!
