The best cheap jeans

Hi. I am in the process of losing 2 stone but desperately need some jeans.I am apple shaped with a fat middle and slim legs. I prefer jeans that sit on the hip as otherwise I get a rather unattractive muffin top. I like straight cut jeans rather than bootcut. Ideally I want to spend less than £40. I have been looking at Top shop but are there any others? What about New Look?

New Look jeans are excellent, as are Tesco.

Uniqlo. £29.90. Their straight leg jeans are great.

I bought some skinnies from matalan at the weekend for £24.

I haven't washed them yet so don't know how they'll hold up but I'm very happy with them so far.

Primark jeans are great. £10. They don't stretch much with wearing, so buy the ones that fit right in the shop, not the ones you can just get in to

And the jeggings are only £7!

Sainsbury's straight leg jeans, £14.50, in black, are the best I have ever bought. They're very thick, have decent stretch, don't sit too low, and are very flattering and comfortable.

Not the style you're after but I have two pairs of eight quid skinnies from Primark, they're a year old & only just need replacing so may be worth trying some of theirs

I've a good pair of Next ones that I've had for years but I'm not sure they're cheap any more. Was shocked at prices last time I was there.

Asda bum and tum ones are fab too - £18 a pair.

I like the Peacocks skinnies - think they're £12.
