DH was fine Sleep. DD went to bed really easily apparently and he thinks I'm hilarious drunk so just laughed at me and has actually been v good all day with random cups of tea etc - sympathy with a small amount of 'serves you right' thrown in Smile

Good to have the wine explanations!! I remember QueenC now filling up the glass with her left overs. I usually self regulate very well but lost track last night.

Mominatrix · 13/10/2013 20:50

Evening, Ladies. Thank you all for such an amazing afternoon/evening. I stumbled home at about 11 after a short McDonalds detour. DH wryly commented that I must have been at the longest lunch in history. I had an amazing time with a table of the most beautiful and stylish women possible.

Shop thanks for organizing such a fantastic afternoon/eveing. You and Dry are neck and neck in my books for the amazing hair of the night. Loved everything on you, but especially the pea coat (whose colour looked amazing with the top you were wearing. Was coveting your ring, and am kicking myself that I missed the shoes!
Marsha glad to hear you got home safely, you lovely lady. You really had a fabulous St-Germain-des-Pres look going on last night.
Dry still am shocked that your stunning necklace was Primark! Next mmet-up, I'll sign up with Liberty for your hair tutorial. Cannot believe that you tortured yourself with a trip to Hollister after yesterday - I hope it was worth it for DD!
Novice was even more stunning in person that I could have imagined. the bag (great colour!), your bling, your house. Le sigh!
One, did not get to talk to you enough, but am happy to hear that you enjoyed your day and got home ok (unlike your trip down to London). Definitely don't go ginger - darker hair suits you.
Liberty loved talking to you, and was really moved by the story of your sister. I agree with everyone who says that she is really lucky to have you for support. Loved your top (I have a printed one like that on my list of things to get) and that hat was fantastic. It was MAC Russian Red I was wearing - well spotted! I agree that those glasses of wine did seem to be like goldfish bowls - now `i understand why! Very sneaky, and must explain my McDonalds trip last night.
Sleep what a stunner you are! I covet your leggings, your shoes, your jacket, your hair… Absolutely agreed with you on the nutrition front and the importance of weight training. I will look into the course you are doing, but I seem to have forgotten the name (hmm, wonder why!)
MrsR SO sorry I did not get to speak very much to you, and must have missed the fact that you have a 10 month old at home.. Loved your colours.

QueenC another person I did not get to properly chat with. Loved the Uniqlo jumper - especially the colour. I think I am the oppose of you in terms of colours I wear - I tend to stick to black and grey, whilst you have a far more adventuresome palate. I was in the Uniqlo in Westfield today and I did see the card you linked to. Is the green you want the mossy, sage like green (I am describing it very badly) I noticed a woman trying it on and the colour was just beautiful. Am happy to run by there again to buy one for myself pick one up for you.

Glad I could catch up with people in person as I have been away for 3 or so weeks. So when is the next one Wink

PS, umlauf both you and your baby are gorgeous. Seeing adorable babies like that really do make me quite broody.

Mominatrix · 13/10/2013 20:51

Ok - epic fail with the bolding. Must proofread!

LinusDKD · 13/10/2013 20:53

Great bargain dry!

I still haven't bought anything from my wishlist. No idea why! Maybe I am waiting for a bargain or maybe I just can't choose.

I did order the packable mac but that doesn't count as it is not really worthy of S&B. Wink

shopafrolic · 13/10/2013 21:02

Mom you stunner - tell me about the cuff..... It was Hermes wasn't it?

OneLittleLady · 13/10/2013 21:06

mom you have a fab figure and those leather trousers were amazing Envy

Sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2013 21:11

Glad you made it home safely Mom!

Before I forgot - the link I promised a few of you that I would post - let me know if you like it Smile

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2013 21:30

Oh yes the leather trousers that both Sleep and Mom were wearing were just stunning. I am thinking wistfully of mine now. Oh and Sleep's red jacket....just gorgeous. Where did you get it?

I have just sat down for the first time properly (meals aside) since 6.30am. I am exhausted. Except, I am giving a presentation tomorrow that I haven't quite finalised yet. But I don't think I have the brain power to finish it tonight. I am burning diptique pomander to for end of week relaxer.

libertychick · 13/10/2013 21:31

Awww they are so cute Sleep - I really like that song - actually appealed more on the clip of them playing live at Portobello Road - they come across like playful puppies and they can all actually sing!

Sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2013 21:35

Thanks Liberty they are indeed very sweet, and super talented. Hopefully destined for great things!

novice - can you wing the presentation Confused? You must be shattered. The jacket was Iro by the way Smile

shopafrolic · 13/10/2013 21:42

Proper happy sunny day music Sleep - really good.

shopafrolic · 13/10/2013 21:43

Novice your voice of reason here.... Hmm
Slow down woman, you're going to meet yourself coming the other way. Relax for a bit, please? Xxx

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2013 21:45

Ooh I like them Sleep! If they become super famous, I will tell my nieces that I heard about them first. Do you have a link for that jacket? I just want to take another look at it. In my dreams, I think I can rock the look you had yesterday. Snort!

The presentation will be the least important I give this year, so yes I think I may just adlib. It's based on the one I gave last week so it's not a complete leap of faith. The kids were up before 7am, we have been in and out all day, including going to a birthday party. There's nothing left in the tank.

Oh god, haven't even picked outfit for tomorrow!

libertychick · 13/10/2013 21:52

Sleep and Mon - I know you were chatting nutrition yesterday and I missed it - I am feeling the need for a little TLC nutritionally - I have been eating a lot of crap lately and am going to cut down but want to know what you think is worth doing - I am not bothered about losing weight - it's more that I'd like to feel more energetic and that I'm nourishing myself properly - just a couple of hints or tips or pointers towards books or websites you think are sensible would be appreciated.

Novice I am supposed to have a draft report ready for a discussion at 9am tomorrow! I have about half done from last week but couldn't face it today. I have set my alarm for 6 to do a manic drafting session. Good luck tomorrow.

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2013 22:00

That's why I love you mummy Shop!Wink

Liberty, yup, you and me both!Shock

Drywhiteplease · 13/10/2013 22:01

Like it Sleep and my ear is tuned into boy bands at the mo.......Grin

libertychick · 13/10/2013 22:04

Oh yeah and clothes for tomorrow - no idea! My 9am discussion is a telecon though which I'm going to do from home so I'll be in PJ's for that and I'll work out what to wear for the rest of the day after that!

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2013 22:12

Ooh, I have just done a famous person name drop on MNV. I actually think everyone will know this person without having to google! Blush

Sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2013 22:20

jacket for Novice

Liberty I don't have any particular diet I would recommend but if you want to keep a food diary for a couple of days and pm me that and any info about what you like/don't like eating, I'd be more than happy to take a look and make suggestions Smile

Dry feel free to show DD the link Smile

shopafrolic · 13/10/2013 22:42

Nice one Novice friends in high places.
I'm off to bed, I'm hoping to wake up with a few more brain cells as I feel I may have lost loads last night! I'm very slow today...... Wonder why?

mignonette · 13/10/2013 23:44

What a fabulous bunch you are Flowers to you all.

I have been in the Mountains today having a walk and enjoying Naycha!

Plenty of time to relax, a little MNing and have one more day then off to Spain to my Mothers house there for a little R&R.

Am loving the MNV pics. Umlauf Baby is super gorgeous. How proud you must be and you are looking good.

Mominatrix · 14/10/2013 06:41

Morning all.

Dry I love the shoes and at £27, they were truly demanding to be purchased.
Shop the cuff was Hermes. I love it, but it is very heavy.
One thank you for the compliment - am Blushing.
Sleep love the song you linked yo. Do you know if it is available to put on iTunes?
Novice I am in awe of your energy - feel positively groggy next to you.

Liberty I don't really have a nutrition philosophy (i.e., lo-carb/no carb, 5:2, etc) and instead have a more wholistic approach. I believe in eating whole foods which are minimally processed most of the time. For breads, I stick to those which have a natural levain (sourdough). I am a believer in a moderate fats full of complex carbs and minimal simple carbs - these will be much better for your overall energy levels. I am loath to give blanket diet advice, because everyone is different and what feels right for one person will not feel right for another. I need a high carb breakfast, and a high protein one would make me feel sluggish, so I have mashed avocado on spelt sourdough bagels with a sprinkle of toasted seeds and nuts on top. I make lunch my protein rich meal, and dinner is a mishmash of everything. I am not a huge snacker, but will have a handful of nuts in the mid PM and a biscuit with my midmorning coffee. I also will have some dark chocolate in the evening. ANother thing - switch away from low-fat products to their normal fat counterparts, particularly yoghurt. Yes, counterintuitive, but studies have shown that those women whose diets incorporated nuts and full fat yoghurts were actually slimmer than those who ate lower fat things. Another thing to avoid are juices and smoothies (I have long associated them with mainlining sugar, and stories are now coming out to agree with me) - won't let my kids have them either.

Mig sounds like a lovely day. Lucky you and Spain - wish I were there and not in gloomy, wet, cold London.

Have a lovely day everyone!

QueenCadbury · 14/10/2013 07:16

Morning.

liberty I've just given up diet coke (2 weeks now). This is a massive achievement for me as I was drinking 1l a day Blush. I've also cut out bread as much as possible as it was giving me IBS type symptoms. I had to have major will power not to eat the whole bread basket on Saturday as fresh bread and butter is my weakness. Even after 2 or 3 slices I had slight bowel spasms. Anyway, by not having a sandwich for lunch I have had to more adventurous in my thinking and so have been having lots of salads or soup instead. It's amazing that I'm not feeling that mid afternoon slump that I used to and can go through till tea time without snacking. For breakfast I have plain porridge oats although I will not give up my mid morning dairy milk for anything Grin. I agree with not having special reduced fat products. I sometimes get a sugar rush from eating those and I'm the girl who can happily wolf down 3 dairy milks if premenstrual and feel fine!

dry lovely shoes. I looked at those and worried that they may scratch though.

mom the cardi is a dark green. It's number 55. If they have any when you're next in, I'll have a small preferably or an xs please Smile.

I love you all for thinking of me when you go to uniqlo! I shall be stalking the website regularly for it to come back in stock!

Sleepwhenidie · 14/10/2013 08:00

mom you've said pretty much everything I would about diet! Very similar outlook. Queen bread is my big weakness too! with lovely butter! definitely my comfort food Smile. The only fizzy drinks I touch are sparking water (and prosecco/champagne of course Wink). My guidelines (not rules, never ban anything unless there is a true/allergy or problem with it), would be stay away from sugar, processed or beige carbs, always pick full fat versions of anything, include plenty of good fats and try and include protein with every snack or meal. Also pretty much everyone will benefit from a good omega 3 supplement and vitamin D3 supplement October-April or whenever the sun reappears here Hmm.

My typical breakfast is a couple of poached eggs on a slice or two of granary toast (usually the only processed carbs in the day), lunch a big salad with tuna, chicken or feta in it, always avocado (love 'em), or a big bowl of soup with a bit of protein alongside. Dinner I don't usually add any carb element to the meal other than those in veg, the exception to this if we want something bulkier I would use lentils or beans of some kind. So I'll make hot and sour soup with prawns, salmon or chicken and serve some little thai fish cakes (m&s spicy ones) on the side. Or bake some smoked haddock and serve on steamed buttered spring greens with a poached egg and perhaps some hollandaise. Steak or stuffed chicken breast with lots of roast tomatoes and steamed broccoli. Dessert is usually full fat Greek yoghurt with berries and a few raw hazelnuts and a little drizzle of honey (tho I sometimes have this around 4-5pm if I find myself feeling tempted to polish off the kids chips and fish fingers Grin. Most days I have a couple of squares of dark choc, a full fat latte at some point, lots of white tea and water and a glass or two of wine with dinner 4-5 nights a week. Maybe a protein shake if I have been to the gym. My favourite snack at the moment is sweetfire/chilli beetroot with a bit of crumbled feta over it, delicious! I may also snack on things like some roast chicken, raw nuts or sliced apple thinly spread with peanut butter.

Sleepwhenidie · 14/10/2013 08:01

Oh, and yes too about the whole food target, preferably organic. Smile
