Hi
I'm looking for some help , I often read this thread and have picked up some useful information

I am off out with friends and partner on Saturday night , it's our first night out since having our 3 year old and want to make an effort .
We will be starting at a pub then on to a club type place!! I have know idea what look to go for .

I am 35 size 10 . I would like to spend no more than £50 ish and would like to be able to wear the outfit again . I have some nice tan shoe boots that are my only heals but the can be worn with jeans or dress but just not sure which . Just for a few ideas the last few times I've seen Emma Willis on TV I quite like her style so was thinking ciggarette pants and a top . I don't know I'm just clueless but really looking forward to my night out !!

Tia

My staple go to for a night out if I'm not sure what to wear is jeans, blouse, blazer with heals and some nice jewellery. Do you own a blazer?

Fifi782005 · 02/10/2013 16:43

Ooo no I don't I hadn't thought of a blazer . If I purchase a good blazer would it be ok with jeans?
I want to be able to go from the pub into the next place without looking like I should be at home tucked up in bed !!

Yes blazers are a perfect item to have in your wardrobe - they work for so many occasions IMO. I just brought this jersey blazer in plum to go with my winter wardrobe - already worn it to the pub for a night out dancing.

They are a great weekend look too if you're maybe going out for Sunday lunch or something - with skinnies and knee high boots.

I bought this top from Matalan yesterday and it looks fab with skinny jeans and heels.

I'm wearing it tonight to go out with friends. I'm pairing it with zip ankle jeggings from M&S (I have the medium indigo): www.marksandspencer.com/Collection-Ankle-Zipped-Denim-Jeggings/dp/B00DNLG35E?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_75&nodeId=122282031&sr=1-75&qid=1380729824

and leopard heels.

jumpsuit and blue heels
or
leather trousers or black skinnies and slouchy top black or cream and sandals and necklace
or
black trousers
and jewelled top or cute blouse

Or do you want more colour?

Fifi782005 · 02/10/2013 23:25

Thanks for your replies ,

I would love to be brave enough to wear a jumpsuit but the one you linked to wouldn't suit me. I would prefer a more fitted leg cigarette type ?!
I'm do like colour and can honestly say I don't own a single black item . I always look like someone from the Addams family in black !

Fgs. Embrace black

FauxFox · 03/10/2013 08:01

khaki or slate

sweetheart · 03/10/2013 11:56

I hate wearing black too - my staple base colours are navy blue, grey and aubergine.

Fifi782005 · 03/10/2013 17:12

Thanks sweetheart , I really don't look or feel good in black and most of my autumn wardrobe are the colours you mentioned .
Just feel so drained in black !

I think you'd look great if you get a blazer in a nice rich colour. Add a light / cream blouse or top under it to show the colour off. Team with really dark blue jeans - whatever shape makes you feel comfortable and some really great heals. Add a bracelet and earrings or maybe a statement ring and your good to go.

sweetheart · 03/10/2013 19:15

Maybe the matalan blazer or this with this

Fifi782005 · 04/10/2013 07:39

I like that last top , my skinny jeans are washed and ready to wear and dark navy so I think the cream top would go.
Off into town to look at dotty ps so will let you know how I go.
Thanks for all your help
