Hello everyone,

I'd like your help with a small matter: I need a new winter coat as mine are all looking a bit dated and drab. It needs to be knee length and very thick & preferably with a hood and elegant-looking but not 'old' as I'm in my 20s. No bright colours.

Price range: Ideally no more than £250 but if it is really special and will last a while I can stretch to £400
My height, weight and dress size for reference: 5'7, 11 stone, size 12-14 in most places

Thank you!

Have you had a look in zara? They do lovely elegant coats :-)

I would feel guilty forever if I spent £1.5k on a coat....but I want it soo much.

Wool coat

That would be lovely if the horrid faux fur collar wasn't there.

I surprised myself by buying one in M&S last week. Bear with me, it's really lovely!

It's this one looks much better in real life, the skirt is more fitted.

My dcs were very impressed btw - they said it makes me look "tall" Grin

I really like the one you linked to and the collar comes off...

check out Hobbs. They have somr nicr coats in that look almost like Reiss coats to me. I'd get a coat from Hobbs if I could afford it but think they will be in your price range. There's a nice one with a big collar I saw too in Ted Baker comes in a few different colours. Can't remember what it was called now but you'll spot it easily enough as knee length, big collar.
