I am hoping the cardigan I want is going in the sale. I could buy it now, but knowing my luck the sale will start in the next half hour. Answers on a postcard please..........

Nothing for me but dd got
4 dresses
cardigan
skirt
2 nighties
heart patch trousers for this winter
towelling shorts & hoodie
pink dotty ruffle vest

what a splurge
luckily I wasn't craving the womenswear!

emmymummy · 07/07/2006 13:50

It's a nightmare isn't it - my dh always despairs as he knows I'm going to spend shedloads of cash on me and dd. But you've just got to order the stuff you like as soon as it hits the sale or you'll never get the chance to again. Leave it an hour and it's bloody well gone!

mousiemousie · 07/07/2006 13:55

emmymum - did you phone them about your boots?

emmymummy · 07/07/2006 13:59

Mousie - i did. They said they couldn't change an order already made and that I'd have to order another pair and send back the first! So that's what I've done. What a pain in the butt. Never mind, I'm looking forward to being Robin Hood come the winter!

mousiemousie · 07/07/2006 14:01

worth phoning them though
what a silly system!

puff · 07/07/2006 14:02

The Architect Shirts for men are good - dh likes them because he wears suits but not ties in his job and these shirts are smart but not too formal. Down to half price, so I bought some more for him.

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 14:19

PUff, I'm looking for a shirt for dh to wear to a wedding - it's a less formal wedding in a hotel and I think he'd look good in a nice shirt but without a tie - d'you think those shirts would be suitable?

NomDePlume · 07/07/2006 14:21

I've only just had my 'sale now on' email

SoMuchToBits · 07/07/2006 14:24

I hardly ever seem to get their promotional e-mails despite having been on their mailing list for ages. I always get sent their catalogues by post, and get e-mails if I have placed an order, but otherwise nothing. Good thing I can rely on MN to keep me up to date!

apronstrings · 07/07/2006 14:25

Doesn't he email preferred customers first - i may be wrong but I get the feeling you find out first if you've spent loads

NomDePlume · 07/07/2006 14:26

so my custom isn't valued ?

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 14:27

Er, I spend a f*cking fortune in BOden!! I emailed them about it recently actually but I didn't get a very satisfactory response - something about some emails filtering out such messages! Pah!

SoMuchToBits · 07/07/2006 14:28

I spend a fortune too, so that can't possibly be the reason.

MrsJohnCusack · 07/07/2006 14:30

maybe it's the other way round? Maybe they assume those who spend a fortune will keep doing so anyway and so concentrate their marketing on those who buy less in the hope of reeling them in so they'll buy more?

really I expect it's just bad organisation

hana · 07/07/2006 14:31

am gutted
looking from work and wont be home until after 6!! boo hoo!!

emmymummy · 07/07/2006 14:36

Ah yes Hana, but just think of all the money you'll be saving....

puff · 07/07/2006 14:37

gdk - well dh is very fussy about shirts and really likes them - they look very crisp - nice collar so I'd say good for a wedding without tie. We also ordered the linen one to try but it was too "lumpy" according to dh , so linen ones were sent back.

mousiemousie · 07/07/2006 14:39

all mens' shirts now gone

Piffle · 07/07/2006 15:16

I ordered a couple of things NOt in the sale at full price for dd... And about 9 sale things
Has been despatched in first class post already
downside being dp will see it and I am on serious spending ban... he agreed to two pairs of summer pjs for dd - which are in an earlier other order
He might kill me...

you all need therapy!

Alan · 07/07/2006 15:43

I was going to order the 50s summer dress but changed my mind because tbh i dont know how they fit

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 15:56

anniemac - not seen that one in the flesh but have seen this one in the brown/pink print and it looked really nice on. Wouldn't have picked it out from the catalogue but did look nice.

Gobbledigook · 07/07/2006 15:57

Really surprised to see all in stock in the brown and out of stock in teh red - the red one is awful imo!

SoMuchToBits · 07/07/2006 15:58

I think it depends on your body shape as to what looks good. I don't tend to look good in bias cut things, as my hips look ENORMOUS, but I have previously bought a 50s style Boden dress which was great.
