Should I ditch this dress?

Getting to the bottom of the ironing pile. Horribly dated H&M dress circa 2009, but DH wants me to keep it. Has he got a grudge against me perhaps, or is it somehow still wearable?

Hasn't come out well in the photo but the top part features horizontal pleats.

Just looks like a bog standard dress to me. For work with a jacket over, it looks fine.

Knee-length brown Boden, probably one for the charity shop too eh?

I don't have a lot of clothes but the ones I have are getting rather out of date. I'm not a trendsetter but I'd prefer not to look hopelessly frumpy.

Boden one to go - can't see that working at all, sorry.

You don't think the top's really dated Remus?

Looks okay to me - just a smartish looking dress for work.

Last one: odd frills on a black t-shirt. Gap spring 09 according to the label.

Nearly finished the ironing then!!!

Get rid of all three and start afresh. If you don't like the item, you won't feel good wearing it!

The boden skirt is pretty hideous btw.

colette · 29/09/2013 11:05

dress is fine

practicality · 29/09/2013 11:40

I like the Boden one- you could dress that up with a slouchy knit/aran and long boots to look a bit countryside. The rest ming.

aStitchInTime · 29/09/2013 12:36

Ha. OK so opinions vary. Anyone else?

Already decided that denim skirt and Boden skirt are out the door. Just not 100% sure about dress and t-shirt. They're halfway out the door though ;)

The dress is fine. Sell the rest on ebay.

MollyBerry · 29/09/2013 12:47

I'd say dress is fine, t-shirt should go

aStitchInTime · 29/09/2013 13:24

Right, shirt is gone then. To the charity shop though, got no time or patience for eBay (or for ironing the bloody skirt).

Looks like DH is more in the know than I am re: dress Grin

The dress is fine for work.

skirt on my phone screen looks like a dirty dishcloth.

denim skirt only if you are 12

Black t shirt, cut off sleeves and neckline and wear a a trendy vest. Or give to charity.

aStitchInTime · 30/09/2013 10:17

Dress is getting a reprieve, but if I haven't worn it again within a few months it will be out the door too!
