Where to get a ring like this?

Does anyone know where I would even start to look for a ring like this?

It would have to be gold and the cheaper the better. Ideally in the UK...

Nope.

LeGavrOrf · 28/09/2013 22:34

Hahahahah

SundaySimmons · 28/09/2013 22:34

Picture is showing for me

Ziggyzoom · 28/09/2013 22:34

I can see the pic. Are you anywhere near the jewellery quarter in Birmingham?

tethersend · 28/09/2013 22:35

Well I can see it... It's staring me in the face.

Bollocks.

Well. You'd have liked it, it's very nice.

Where is the picture

Is it a desktop mobile site thingy?

tethersend · 28/09/2013 22:36

Thank Christ for that Ziggy and Sunday Grin

I'm in London, but not averse to travelling to Birmingham if it were absolutely necessary.

I am just going to have another drink and see if this gets sorted out in the meantime

SundaySimmons · 28/09/2013 22:38

Moat towns have those Gold reserve shops! you may get one in there.

tethersend · 28/09/2013 22:41

Link for all of you who are pissed can't see the pic.

tethersend · 28/09/2013 22:43

Thanks Sunday, I think I want it a little more textured than that. And, as much as it pains me to say it, I think it has to be new...

Hatton garden.

I have a gold ring that I hand made about thirty years when I did a jewellery evening class and I made a bark pattern on it. Will have to find it and take a picture for you.

You should be able to get one made up quite easily.

tethersend · 28/09/2013 22:57

I had ruled Hatton garden out as too expensive... Do you think it's worth a check if you're on a budget?

OP posts:
KosherBacon · 28/09/2013 23:18

Why not just buy that ring and get it resized?

tethersend · 28/09/2013 23:19

They won't ship to the UK...

OP posts:
KosherBacon · 28/09/2013 23:25

Oh. I thought you were looking at the eBay one and was very confused. I didn't realise it was the etsy one.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/09/2013 23:33

www.nodeform.com/collections/saw-cut-rings/products/wide-saw-cut-texture-wedding-band-in-yellow-gold-or-rose-gold they ship to the UK.

uk based this company have lots of decorative rings and a note at the bottom of the page saying they can cut almost any pattern in to the surface.

tethersend · 29/09/2013 09:48

Thanks statistically; I think I'm in love with the one I linked to, actually.

Do you think it's worth trying to persuade her to deliver to the UK?

Am also hyperventilating at the cost. Is that normal? How much are wedding rings, anyway?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 29/09/2013 09:57

Tethers, I just looked at her shipping info and it says she ships to the EU?

I would say it's a reasonable price for a wedding ring as it looks like it would have a fair weight to it. My own was about that (7 years ago) but is diamond set and very slim, DH had a replacement very recently and was around £500 for quite a plain ring that probably has a similar weight of gold.

tethersend · 29/09/2013 10:02

Ooh, she's changed it!

It must be a sign...

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/09/2013 13:39

Only thing I would say - have you tried some rings on? That one is lovely, but it looks to me like it is probably quite a thick band (i.e. in terms of how deep the metal is.) I have quite small fingers, and found buying both engagement and wedding rings quite tricky as any that were thicker felt very uncomfortable and forced my fingers apart. My original engagement ring choice of something with diamonds on the band was impossible.

So if you haven't tried many yet I would maybe try to find somewhere that has something equally deep to try on just to make sure you find it comfy to wear.

hellymelly · 29/09/2013 13:52

I think the price is pretty standard, gold is really expensive now and it is 14 carat. If you love it I would buy it. The only alternative is to get one made, but unless you go for 9 ct gold then it won't be much cheaper.
