Wool cardigans for girls

Dd is 5 & I can't find any for her. Actual wool not acrylic. I've checked monsoon, little white co, John Lewis, gap. Boden have a fair isle one which is lovely but doesn't co-ordinate with any of her clothes. Ideally grey or navy and under £25. I have tried eBay but not much comes up. Any ideas?

Could you look on Facebook for a local crafter to knit you one?

There are loads of pages in my local area set up by people who handmake things to order.

Surprised you had no luck on Ebay - I can usually find several nice wool items on there for DD at any given time.

Have you tried looking in boys' sections of the above shops? For some reason boys' knitwear seems more likely to be in lambswool, girls often get stuck with acrylic crap.

Charity shops?

LeoandBoosmum · 29/09/2013 03:22

Do you know anyone who knits? I would try to get her one made as you can pick the wool yourself :)

Thanks all. I hadn't spotted either of those cardies on eBay, just asked about the grey as that's perfect thanks! Don't know what's wrong with my searching! Find loads of nice boys wool ones there. Boy style cardies don't seem to suit the dresses tops she has, nor very flattering as she has massive toddler tummy still!
I don't really want to spend time tracking down a knitter & choosing wool, or going round charity shops. Dd is youngest of 4, and I'm swamped. Just want to click a button and it arrives! But thanks for all suggestions.

Jojo Maman do wool knitwear and have just started doing some styles up to age 5-6, worth a look there?

Eastpoint · 29/09/2013 08:11

Zara have some in cotton, very simple.

bunnymother · 29/09/2013 08:14

Trotters often sell them, too. But they are £40 IIRC.

DeathMetalMum · 29/09/2013 08:20

Boots also have some 100% cotton.

Thanks Bikerun, think jojo came up small last time I bought one but will check. Looking for wool, not cotton. Don't understand lack of them, little girls need to stay warm too!
£40 a bit pricey but thanks.
Have set up a new eBay search in hope! Little company had lovely merino ones last year when I didn't need them but don't have any yet. Thin hood less merino or lambs wool work well.
