Worth all of the hype? Bought some from Ocado as it was 20% off, the liquid almond version. Used it today and am a bit meh about it. Will try it when shaving my legs as well as it's supposed to be good for that but I wonder if I'm missing something?!

I used it when I was vegan. About the only thing I liked it for was cleaning the toilet!! I used it on my hair once and it made my hair look like I hadn't washed it for months......!

dyslexicdespot · 28/09/2013 13:34

I love it and have used it for years. The peppermint one is my favourite. Be sure to mix it with a lot of water.

Wearytiger · 28/09/2013 13:51

Does yours have weird religious text on the bottle? My rose one did. I know that this sounds crazy if you haven't seen the packaging which is covered in text of all different sizes!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/09/2013 14:24

I like the bonkers bottles and the smell of the stuff when in the bottle, but then I didn't like it at all when I bought it. It left a nasty sicky smell on my skin.

mypavlova · 28/09/2013 14:28

I just love the crazy bottle. I used lavender for ages on face and body. Didn't work out on hair. It's nice soap, but not miraculous. So very nice yes, worth hype no.

bettsiom · 28/09/2013 14:47

We use Dr Bronner's Castille soap to make our own foaming hand soap - you do need to dilute it alot, it can sting if you use it undiluted, but we save tons on buying hand soap! We just bought some foaming soap dispensers and put our solution in those.

bettsiom · 28/09/2013 14:49

The packaging is weird and religious, it did make me feel a bit weird tbh!I may find a secular, less preachy alternative next time.

soaccidentprone · 28/09/2013 15:21

I love the peppermint one as a shower wash. You don't need much of it, it's very refreshing, but don't get it anywhere near your fanny as it is too refreshing (and not in a good way!).

I wouldn't use it for hair though.

peggyblackett · 28/09/2013 15:23

I was distinctly underwhelmed by the lavender version.

MooMinCow · 28/09/2013 15:27

I use the tea tree one to clean my make up brushes.

Amrapaali · 28/09/2013 15:44

My hair is greasy and goes lank very quickly. But Bronners somehow puffs it up and hair stays oil free for a couple of days.

But I still dont like the texture and my hair feels like it has a lot of gunk on it. Bronners has olive oil ini it, Do you think that's why it feels a bit claggy?

BinarySolo · 28/09/2013 17:05

I was underwhelmed. I had the mint. Ok for face and lasted ages. Really crap for hair. Must be mainly dreadlock types that find it suitable for hair washing.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/09/2013 18:55

Yes completely bonkers packaging! Glad it's not just me that doesn't get it then. Clearly not a new fave product for me.

If you wash your hair with traditional soap like this you need to use acid to get rid of the soap scum if not you'll be left gunky. Best way is to wash hair with bromners and then after rinsing do a final rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar (or any vinegar really, white wine is good). This clears out the gunk and leaves hair soft and clean.

Amrapaali · 28/09/2013 21:15

Oooh Thants thats a god tip, but not sure about vinegary smell in my hair...

Amrapaali · 28/09/2013 21:17

good tip Yeesh!! I don't have saintly hair, honest! Grin

Thants · 28/09/2013 22:02

The vinegar smell goes as your hair dries honest!

goodasitgets · 28/09/2013 23:05

I use it for body, hand washing bras, sink wiping down, everything really

BinarySolo · 29/09/2013 02:22

Thants, I love your name! Write that in your copy book!

MrsMeow · 29/09/2013 10:37

I've used the lavender one and thought it was a bit meh to be honest. I was expecting some kind of miracle in a bottle!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 01/10/2013 12:28

I can confirm it makes good shaving lubricant for legs! Actually very good.

I've got the rose one and am a bit Hmm about the bottle. As for the actual soap, I find it really drying. I use it just for cleaning make up brushes now.
