Uggs - which one? Help!

Are the Bailey Button ones any good? I like them in chocolate, but I read that the side sometimes flap down (how, and what does that mean?!?).

If it really is that bad, I might go for a classic short?

Can't decide. Help!!!

I have bailey buttons that don't flap at all. I'm just waiting for a discount code to buy another pair. I tried showing some self control a few weeks ago and deleted them out of mt basket with 20% discount- now expired :-(

Tasmania · 28/09/2013 07:57

Thanks fififolle.

Will probably get them then... My credit card company (ehem... they obviously want me to spend money) is offering 20% off a particular website for the rest of the year. So thought, why not?

Have you looked for discount codes online?

I've tried but it gets v confusing trying to figure which ones are genuine uggs. My boots came up slightly bug, hth.

littlemissnormal · 28/09/2013 08:13

If you're buying Uggs online, my advice is to stick to sites that you know are genuine, so places like Office and House of Fraser.
I searched loads for the cheapest pair but found when they seemed cheaper, the site didn't seem right if you know what I mean.

I have bailey buttons and mine have folded over but I think this may be due to me having bigger calves and wearing joggers tucked in the tops on comfy days!

gaggiagirl · 28/09/2013 08:48

I would go for a classic short personally but then I do have a few pairs. I find them more comfortable than the baileys. Either way you cannot go wrong with uggs.

littlemissnormal · 28/09/2013 08:53

Here you go!
m.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/groupon-goods-global-gmbh/27363246

fififolle · 28/09/2013 08:54

I've just seen that deal too! Are they real?

littlemissnormal · 28/09/2013 09:03

I hope so! I've been meaning to replace mine for a while and been putting it off so just ordered some!

I wouldn't think a company like Groupon would be able to sell them otherwise, surely?? I've had an issue with the end product of something I've bought through Groupon before and they refunded me fairly easily so if they are fake I'm banking on that happening again.

mogontheblock · 28/09/2013 09:12

Hello! I have both (in chestnut) I have had so so much wear out of them so although they're dear they are a bargain when I consider how many - very comfortable - miles they have served me! The bailey buttons did flap down at the sides a bit but I actually put a stitch in to keep them from rolling down further & they've been fine since. I love the look of them/being able to see a bit of the fur.
Either way get them covered in protective spray-covered-before you wear them. If I get a stain at all I just use a slightly damp flannel to gently rub the stain off....

mogontheblock · 28/09/2013 09:15

Ps definitely go for genuine boots from a genuine site. There's a lot of dodgy ones that will take your cash & provide you with no boots (the same with Barbour too) I would stick with house of Fraser, John Lewis or office shoes. The price shouldn't vary as ugg rarely have any discounts (I've never seen one)
Also sizing....I'm a size 7 normally & I wear a size 6 ugg as the fur compresses down inside a bit over time which has definitely resulted in a size difference.

Tedder · 28/09/2013 09:20

I'm considering a pair of classic Uggs because they look so comfy but can't get my head round a pair of boots that aren't weather-proof. What do you do if you're out and it starts raining??

spottymoo · 28/09/2013 10:02

I got the Noira ones this time as I like buckle and they don't flap as much at the top like my bailey button ones did.
I always spray mine with a water resistant spray from Clark's I paid just over £125 for mine instead of £225 on m&m direct and they are an official ugg retailer

Tasmania · 28/09/2013 12:00

I'm getting them from www.my-wardrobe.com which I guess is a good site, and listed as an authorised retailer on UGG Australia. I get 20% discount for that site for the rest of the year if I pay with my card, so I might as well do it before the new year starts.

But the prices on M&M Direct are pretty amazing. Spottymoo - are they really genuine?

OP posts:
spottymoo · 28/09/2013 13:15

Yes their really genuine they sell lots of different designer items when their gone their gone we've had several items from their and never had any problems with them at all

Tasmania · 28/09/2013 14:59

This part of MN is REALLY not good influence. I went from maybe I'll buy Uggs... to I now want two different types/styles!!!

Dh even had a pair this year although his are more formal boots he's hankering after a pair of shoes he tried on as well which were apparently ugg heaven

Tasmania · 28/09/2013 16:45

slalomsuki · 28/09/2013 17:28
