What boots?

I have been given a load of good clothes from a friend of mine who doesn't fit in them anymore.

In the mix were some denim mini skirts. I can get away with wearing them but I have no idea what to wear on my feet with them. Especially when wearing them with thick tights.

I don't want to wear knee high boots with them, I hate the combination, but can I get away with knee high flat boots?

What do I wear with them in the Autumn/winter?

Any ideas?

I have these but not sure if they would go with the short skirts.

Ankle boots? Converse? Uggs?

The Timberland boots would go with them, with thick tights- or other flat knee high or mid-calf boots, brogue lace up type shoes would go too. Flat pumps on dry warmer winter days? I just bought These for my main winter boot
