Has anyone regretted Botox?

Just wondered if anyone has regretted getting it?

Also how can I make sure they do a 'subtle' job?

Any tips?

Any recommendations in Northern Ireland for a practitioner?

Subbing as I am contemplating it at the moment Smile

No regrets, just skint and wish I could have more. I only have elevenses done and I love it. I also have fillers nose to mouth but honestly it's costly and I don't rate the effect that highly. I only have a little because I prefer subtle. I know loads of people who have it and honestly you would know.

Lazysuzanne · 26/09/2013 18:49

as far as I know most practitioners will start with a lowish dose and then adjust up or down on subsequent treatments as needed...some people need a higher dose than others?

I suppose one of the things about botox is that people that keep going for it think it looks good, however people around them might not think it looks good. I can think of a few people IRL and on tv who have far too much but think they look nice and natural.

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/09/2013 19:16

I love it!

I only have frown lines done so still have some movement in my forehead.

binger · 26/09/2013 19:24

I've only had it once and it was subtle, frown and 11 lines. In Oct/Nov I'm getting same again but adding in eyebrows to lift them a bit as I have very droopy eyes. I'm also getting lip to nose fillers this time but am a bit scared of that.

FoxyHarlow123 · 26/09/2013 19:55

Never regretted Botox. I have subtle for my 11s.

Bungee, fillers for nose to mouth lines is a mini miracle! Ul love it (so long as the doc does a good job if course).

Lazysuzanne · 26/09/2013 20:04

Foxy, would you mind sharing...what sort of fillers did you have and did you wait until the lines were pronounced, or did you 'nip them in the bud'?

I've had botox in all 3 area's every 4 months for the past 2 1/2 years, no regrets at all

SundaySimmons · 27/09/2013 08:05

I used to have it done but I didn't like the way it looked after awhile and my then partner who didn't know I was having it done told me on a few occasions that I had a funny expression on my face and was looking 'smug'!

I also found that after awhile it felt strange not to be able to frown properly and I didn't like that feeling.

The results were not value for money as I had it done at a clinic by someone with an excellent reputation.

Now my face is clear of it, I had it between my eyes and above, I feel I look much better. I certainly feel better as I have complete movement in my expressions now.

FoxyHarlow123 · 28/09/2013 07:57

Don't know who bungee is! Meant to say binger!

Anyways....

I honestly can't remember the name of the filler. Juverdern or rystalyn (sp). It's not permanent but it's still going strong a year later. My lines weren't pronounced but they were there and visible. If you saw me, you'd have no idea I'd had it done. It's not visible in the slightest.

Tasmania · 28/09/2013 07:59

No regrets. Actually want another one as mine wore off now.

Lazysuzanne · 28/09/2013 10:14

Foxy, a year! I didn't know it lasted that long

Notbroken · 28/09/2013 10:55

Only regret is that I can't afford more.

binger · 01/10/2013 13:03

Thanks foxy for info. Does it hurt? I found the Botox to be relatively pain free but for some reason I expect the fillers to really hurt. Practitioner(who is a nurse) uses numbing cream and she says there is a local anaesthetic in the filler which gets to work as it's injected, but I still imagine it's going to be agony.

BillyBanter · 01/10/2013 13:07

I regret not having money to have my frown line done more often. I've only had it three times. I went from single for several years to coupled up within a couple of months each time. Great confidence boost for me to not feel I look like a right grump.

Lazysuzanne · 01/10/2013 13:09

That'd also be my concern about fillers

threesugarsplease · 01/10/2013 20:23

I am thinking of going for a liquid face lift once I have some spare money. This involves adding volume to cheeks and putting filler in the tear troughs and maybe filler elsewhere. From what I have read moving the cheeks upwards gets rid of lines below mouth and either side of nose.

Has anyone had a liquid face lift/tear troughs or cheeks filled? Any recommendations? Ideas of price?
