new coat - not Barbour

Any suggestions? I'd like it for dog walking, pootling about doing errands and shopping and so forth. I like the look of this

but DP says it's naff. I have to be careful with jackets as I am huge of nork so don't want pockets highlighting them. I'd like black as I think green is a bit too country for me (I'm a towny). I have a budget of £200. Am I being too fussy?

I've just bought this Whistles one - it's pretty thick and cosy so is too warm for right now and maybe not what you're looking for, but should be good when the weather gets colder. I normally hate parkas (hate the triangle thing at the back) but this is straight hemmed. I'm quite busty too and this is fine!

I had a "huge of nook" coat thread recently with some good suggestions (though I wasn't looking for waterproof and I also needed size 18)

There were some great suggestions here

Far from being naff, quilted & waxed jackets are bang on trend. My Wardrobe are selling a very similar Barbour quilted jacket for £179 & a Burberry one for over £300.

Barbour jackets used to be the province of Peter Jones' mothers & ramblers. But due to the influence of festivals & Kate Middleton, they have shifted into fashion...

Yours is comfortable, waterproof, it's nicely fitted, if you like it, stuff your husband.

bialystock that Whistles coat is lovely. I may go for that.
BeCool I laughed out loud at your 'huge of nook' comment. Hopefully that's something I'm not (couldn't be doing with being huge of Nork and Nook!) Thanks for the thread link.
Twinkelstein Yes, I know. I love them! PD is very much a 'country boy' and sees me as Townie pretender because he never leaves the bloody village unlike some of us.
Thanks very much everyone [Thanks]
