Another 'which tights with this dress' please

This is the dress in black. Shoes will probably be suede wedges, peep toe. Doesn't sound great but they are really pretty and elegant. So I'm thinking black fish nets - what do you all think?

It's for a work 'gala dinner', so needs to be smartish....

I am completely confused by this thread. I think I must have misunderstood what a gala dinner is?! Is it not a black tie function? I would wear that black dress and wedges combo (with no tights) to the beach...I know I am a bit of an overdresser but still! And please no with the sandals and fishnets!

You could get away with wearing the dress as it's plain but you need to dress it up with jewellery, proper evening shoes/bag to fit in with a gala dinner unless i've completely misunderstood the sort of occasion you're going to. Sorry to be blunt. What's the problem with wearing proper shoes? Do you not do high heels or is it a budget thing? basic sexy black heels and sheer tights or seamed stockings for a racier look and a jewelled cuff and earrings should do the trick, no? An up-do if your hair is long would also be elegant.

Thanks for the bluntness, you're right I should find smarter shoes. Although these are nit really beach wear.... maybe the pics don't do them justice...

I really need an ankle strap though as my legs are like twigs and I look ridiculous with court shoes.
