first date dress dilemma

Help!! Am going to a very smart restaurant on friday for a 1st date. Am beyond excited and have already bought the shoes Shoes
and thought I'd got the dress sorted with this Dress
but I'm now wondering if it's all a bit sombre......

I'm 5'9 and size 10/12, olivey skin and brown shoulder length hair. Any advice welcome or further suggestions - don't have time to mail order now so panic buying only!

ooh, I am impressed! That outfit (just ordered it!!!!) , and your size (5/9,10-12) yells 'classy!' Think, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly... I second the red lippy - you will knock him dead (hope he's worth it! )

I wouldn't go for red lippy as some guys prefer (what they think of as) the 'natural look'. I'd go for more pretty natural colours on your face - heighten your natural colours against the black.

Maybe a pendant necklace in the v of the dress?

I'd have gone for the red version of the shoes.

But then my mums voice would be ringing in my head saying red shoes no knickers.

I always thought it was 'red hat no knickers'!! But actually red shoes would have been fab. Anyway, just reporting back to say outfit was a hit, wore red lippy but re-applied just gloss at the end of the evening and got a snog as well. Thanks for the replies.x
