London hotel help

Afternoon, I'm after some fabulous hotel recommendations for London, we aren't going till July but it's for my sisters 40th and we love to plan!!! We haven't been to London for a few years and last time stayed at The Grange St Paul's which we loved the location of and will book again if we can't find anywhere else. I was wondering about more Kensington way, the idea is shopping in the day and then eating and some cocktails at night, we are a bit sad and a tad MIC obsessed so might try some of the bars on there Blush that's if they would let us in!!! Our budget per room a night would be £200. Thanks Smile

The Gore in Kensington is lovely. Weekends get booked up quickly so if you want it you should book it.

Thanks for the link that looks amazing, is it in a good area? Would u say that kensington would b a good place to stay for nighttime?

It is 5 minutes walk from the V&A and 1 tube stop away from Kensington High Street. The area is fine - I'd have no qualms about being in that area alone at night so you'll be fine in a group.

I'm a closet MIC fan too Blush Do you have a specific bar in mind?

FreshLeticia · 24/09/2013 21:46

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Kensington, on Cromwell Rd. We booked well in advance and got a good deal. Right by the tube and walking distance to the V & A

Sorry Ujjayi when I asked about the area I ment more for bars etc than safety Blush we'd defo go to Bluebird and would love Sunday lunch at The Phene depending what time train we had to get back, I'll have to watch all the episode again to make decisions on the others Grin unless you can recommend and bars and restaurants too??

Haha that is amazing thanks, season 6 is out soon and I'll making lots of notes. It's nice to see the bars before you go and off course accidentally bumping into any off the MIC lot would b a bonus Grin

I was invited to an event recently which I declined on the basis that it was being hosted by Jamie Laing. I didn't trust myself not to get hideously pissed and tell him what a spineless little dick he is :o

Nells77 · 25/09/2013 22:17

I used to love Jamie then he turned out to be a knobSad I don't think cocktails and meeting any of them would be a good mix. That said how the hell did you turn that down, I would have had to go to see if he's as short as he looks on tv and with the hope that Frances would be there Smile

The Kensington hotel is lovely as is The Rembrandt hotel

Karbea · 26/09/2013 00:04

The Montcalm is lovely, not Kensington but right behind marble arch/Oxford street.

hollyisalovelyname · 26/09/2013 00:23

The Marylebone is just behind Oxford Street and has a pool

What's MIC ? Confused

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/10/2013 10:29

Oh, I've just twigged, Made in Chelsea....

wanders off........................

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/10/2013 10:30

70 I think they mean Made in Chelsea.

I am rather aghast that grown women a) watch it, and b) want to bump into the cast.

I guess it takes all sorts...
